Does cynicism have it's limits? If cynicism has limits what are they?

I'm requesting all positivists and optimists to share your opinions on cynicism.

How does one measure "cynicism"? Feet and inches? Gallons or liters? Pounds or Kilograms?

Well, does it damage others to express cynicism?

How about in "ICU"? International Cynicism Units? And, yes, it can damage others to express cynicism, especially in the post-postmodern, bitter form. The rusty razor cuts, the curmudgeonly cudgel bruises. If cynicism is founded somewhat rationally, though, it is exceptionally useful. Kind of like floss.

    I'm confused by that post.
What exactly are you trying to say?

How about the magnitude or intensity of the cynicism, if were trying to scale it.

sure that's the only way to eliminate an either-or scenario

3 our of 100 ICUs is good. 10 is bad. 50 is for the insane. 100? Inhuman

Ain't it a similar issue? How does one measure "damage"?

TT, I think I understand what you're trying to say or to get at, but expressing some measure of cynicism or emotional damage is.....? How? And to make it all worse, one person might not even be bothered by the exact same cynicism that would send another crying to mommy.
