Nikelodeon 05-08-07, 03:06 PM Giant spiders and womens bedrooms. redarmy11 05-08-07, 03:10 PM http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/5/52/IMG_0735.JPG/350px-IMG_0735.JPG mikenostic 05-08-07, 03:16 PM http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/5/52/IMG_0735.JPG/350px-IMG_0735.JPG acrophobia^^^^ I have that phobia too. Varda 05-08-07, 03:22 PM yeah... lol engrish I am going to get laughed at. I am affraid that my thumbs might fall. It usually doesn't bother me to the point of paranoia, but sometimes when I am sick and have a fever, or when I am very drunk, I find myself looking at my hands and it really freaks me out. I don't even know what that is called, or if there even is a name for that redarmy11 05-08-07, 03:22 PM acrophobia^^^^ I have that phobia too. How bad? Chairs, tables and step-ladders I can cope with. I draw the line at ladders proper and anything much above ten feet though. redarmy11 05-08-07, 03:23 PM yeah... lol engrish I am going to get laughed at. I am affraid that my thumbs might fall. I don't even know what that is called, or if there even is a name for that Schizophrenia. nietzschefan 05-08-07, 03:27 PM Spiders, and I have actually tried to overcome it. Damn freaky upclose, those jumping ones i'm always coming across. mikenostic 05-08-07, 03:27 PM How bad? Chairs, tables and step-ladders I can cope with. I draw the line at ladders proper and anything much above ten feet though. I'm kinda similar. My fear is proportional to both how high it is AND the chances of me falling. Example, if I'm in an airplane or in an office building, it's no big deal because I'm not going to just slip and fall. Whereas, if I was working on an unfinished roof on a two story house, that makes me very shaky. I even get nervous on the waterslide towers that are 40'+ high but the rush of sliding down the slides are worth it. I'm also pretty claustrophobic. Oli 05-08-07, 03:28 PM Not going mad. darksidZz 05-08-07, 03:28 PM Why are you stealing my ideas http://sciforums.com/showthread.php?t=65271 :( Absane discipline the poor fellow, I at least gave everyone a list to choose from, I am gonna go cry now. mikenostic 05-08-07, 03:30 PM Why are you stealing my ideas http://sciforums.com/showthread.php?t=65271 :( Absane discipline the poor fellow, I at least gave everyone a list to choose from, I am gonna go cry now. I'll go post in there and vote in your poll if it makes you feel better. :m: redarmy11 05-08-07, 03:33 PM I'm kinda similar. I had a summer job a while back as a safety official in an oil refinery. No idea how high up we were but there were seaguls flying below us, and the floors were wire mesh so you could see through them right down the the ground hundreds of feet below. Didn't bother me though. :p Enclosed spaces? Can't get enough of 'em. Varda 05-08-07, 03:34 PM I love spiders http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/7379/dsc01cropsi0.jpg (http://imageshack.us) Varda 05-08-07, 03:35 PM Schizophrenia. har har redarmy11 05-08-07, 03:38 PM Why are you stealing my ideas http://sciforums.com/showthread.php?t=65271 This got me thinking. I have a recurring fear - a black daydream - of tripping and hitting my mouth on a kerb. Ultra-painful introduction to an all-soup diet. http://www.sciforums.com/images/icons/icon14.gif nietzschefan 05-08-07, 03:41 PM I love spiders I will get you back for that, how did you find a pic of a jumping spider so fast!?!? redarmy11 05-08-07, 03:41 PM Only the bug lady can do this. She probably took the photograph too. Varda 05-08-07, 03:44 PM I took that photograph a while ago, I have the url to where I hosted it saved... it is nt a jumping spider though, it's a Lycosidae, or "wolf spider", about 4cm long Varda 05-08-07, 03:47 PM Jumping spiders flirting Hilarious http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D92AUXhYZ0M Sputnik 05-08-07, 03:58 PM Hilarious - the front legs almost looked like redarmy11´s eyes ....... I hope they added the sounds .....not real .... How is your throat, Varda ? Varda 05-08-07, 04:03 PM I am pretty sure the sounds are real. Bugs make noises... you can't tell for most of the times because of background noises, but when you put a microphone near, you hear stuff like this, or like this other one I caught getting ready to fly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgxa4_CrQfs TIME TO MORPHE lol How's my throat? What a random question... it's.. um, fine Sputnik 05-08-07, 04:08 PM How's my throat? What a random question... it's.. um, fine Not random - just remembered, that you had some throat problems (hiccups-like) some months ago ....... Varda 05-08-07, 04:12 PM ahh yeah... it comes and goes My throat jumps like crazy when I'm stressed I've been relaxed lately :) Absane 05-11-07, 01:40 PM Why are you stealing my ideas http://sciforums.com/showthread.php?t=65271 :( Absane discipline the poor fellow, I at least gave everyone a list to choose from, I am gonna go cry now. What are you talking about? darksidZz 05-11-07, 01:45 PM Well I posted a thread on Phobias, but I gave all the members a huge list to find theirs from, this guy just ignored a list and posted a simple statement, mine is far better  Coolies! 05-11-07, 02:02 PM I have several "black day dreams" such as going over on my ankle while walking next to a road, falling into the road and getting smushed. Also falling down the stairs and breaking my neck. I mean I don't think like that all the time or at all really its just something that pops in there sometimes. But as an actual clinical phobias I don't have any. I mean I don't like spiders but unlike in America and Australia the spiders in Britian don't get too big and they definatley are not poisonous, so I can deal with spiders. Oh another odd "black day dream" is if I'm on a peir or next to the railings on a ferry, I have the odd feeling my shoes are gonna fall into the water even if I'm not dangling my feet over the edge.:bugeye: Crunchy Cat 05-11-07, 02:04 PM I have a fear that somewhere, somehow, a duck is watching me. Oli 05-11-07, 02:05 PM Quack. (Oh, shit, rumbled) Coolies! 05-11-07, 02:09 PM Yeah have you seen that website so many phobias on that list must be fake especially the duck 1. what about the name for the fear of chins being very similar to the fear of sex, thats odd. And don't ask what website cos that was years ago. phonetic 05-11-07, 02:16 PM I don't really have many fears. A lot of things scare me, but I don't have any phobias. That sounds a little confusing, doesn't it? Anyway.. I worry myself sometimes when I'm standing on something high by telling myself I could jump off and I'd be dead. It wouldn't take any effort and it could even happen by accident. Or when I'm driving I see a wall and think that if I didn't steer around the corner I could drive into the wall and maybe die. Strange situational things, usually involving a simple action and the consequence being death or serious injury. And killing other people - generally in the car. If I didn't avoid the cyclist that's weaving along the road, would they end up crushed and mangled under my wheels. If I dropped something heavy off a building or out a window and someone was walking by at exactly the right/wrong time. Kids scare me. Especially young ones on bikes on the pavement. They never look that steady and there's a chance they could go onto the road by accident. I slow right down usually and go on the wrong side of the road if it's clear. The last thing I ever want to do is kill a kid. I don't think I could take it. fishtail 05-11-07, 02:22 PM I have a fear of forceful women, female teachers terrified me. nicholas1M7 05-11-07, 02:31 PM Hilarious - the front legs almost looked like redarmy11´s eyes ....... You mean to tell me that that thing in the avatar is redarmy11? I thought spidergoat was the only non-human inhabitting this forum. Laika 05-11-07, 03:09 PM I don't know if this qualifies as a phobia, because to me it's a damn rational fear: breaking wind while sneezing in a public place (in work would be worst). It could happen! EmptyForceOfChi 05-11-07, 03:22 PM Post your phobias. i have no phobias they are irrational. but i did see an interesting television show the other week where a woman had a phobia of buttons, like clothing buttons, i thought hey that seems logical, peace. EmptyForceOfChi 05-11-07, 03:23 PM Well I posted a thread on Phobias, but I gave all the members a huge list to find theirs from, this guy just ignored a list and posted a simple statement, mine is far better  atleast varda didnt put a poll up with it, peace. Varda 05-11-07, 03:27 PM Well I posted a thread on Phobias, but I gave all the members a huge list to find theirs from, this guy just ignored a list and posted a simple statement, mine is far better  I wasn't exactly looking for common phobias, hence thread title one_raven 05-11-07, 03:59 PM No phobias or fears at all. That's apparently uncommon. tablariddim 05-11-07, 04:31 PM No phobias, though I don't like climbing ladders, simply because I'm aware of the risk of falling. EmptyForceOfChi 05-11-07, 04:32 PM No phobias or fears at all. That's apparently uncommon. we are special. peace. |
