This is my new webcomic and I thought I would share it with everyone. I would appreciate any comments and suggestions anyone has. You could post them here or even on my own forum.

Thank you for your comments, but i doubt i'll go into animating stryder since that would take waay too much time and i'm already filled up with the comic and school.
Anyways, whoever reads this, tell me what you like about my comic! or don't like, whatever, I need feedback!
Stryder 05-10-04, 07:23 PM I don't know, animating in flash might be quicker than you think if you can just get over the animation learning curve. It's mostly defining objects and "Transforming" them, namely a wave of an arm would be taking the arm onto one layer and then doing a transform of it to another position, the program can then work out the frames in between, which you can guess speeds it up no end, rather than doing 5400 seperate frames [3 minute clip at 30 Frames a Second].
Btw it's called "Transform" because it involves "Translation" [the movement from one point to another], "Rotation" and "Scale" [Self explanatory]

Depends on how high profile it is I would think...
You could take a look at http://www.sodipodi.com ...though I don't think it does animation, just vector graphics...but it is free (substitute for Illustrator?)....
And zagen...your comics are amusing :)
spuriousmonkey 05-11-04, 04:03 AM I 'kind of' use an official version of illustrator. We had bought several 'educational' licences for our group. They are quite cheap ones (only 50 Euro or so) especially for educational institutes and such who use illustrator for none-commercial purposes.
Although technically I use it outside of work, I would consider my illustrator use non-commercial in nature, so my conscience is almost clear.
But still it is a problem. Maybe I will purchase a licence one day.
Stryder 05-11-04, 05:16 AM I tend to go with the understanding tht I can get hold of software which is currently perceived illegal, and if I use that software for my own games (Namely capitalising on it) then I should look at licenceing it (Afterall paying the licence then means that you don't end up being taken to court and losing a large percentage of your gains for being too cheapskate to purchase the licence.)
Since I'm not a rich man and I know full well most people on the net suffer their own financial difficulties, it's almost inhumane to be prosecuted for no licencing something that you would purchase if you had the available money (Rather than it being swallowed up by a massive insurgence of bills).
So, Crack it, use it, If you make money and enjoy the program BUY It.(When it's updated)
Yeah, I have macromedia and i've done a lot of flash with just playing around, and I possibly could do that, but this is good enough for me, since i'm already changing stuff and just getting it going well. Though I don't know about the other animating link you gave me stry. Didn't look into it too much.
