    Warining...of terror in London

I must add before I start that this is not a joke...and make what you want out of it.

It all starts a couple of days ago...
A friend was walking along a street in the middle of London when a (i'm not sure how to discribe this so I mean no offence) Affgani looking man dropped a bag and had not noticed it,
my friend picked it up and went after the man to give it back to him. When she was running she noticed that the bag was full of money..i believe it must of been a lot of money.
Anyway she caught up with him and he was very glade to have it back and he said...
"Thank you very much" "How can i ever repay you"
    He went on to say
"I'll give you a tip...stay out of London on the 13th of November"

Which happens to be 2 months after the 11th Sep tragady.
    (check the dates)

I must say that this is not what-so-ever a joke, you can take it as you want.

She didn't go to the police with this infomation as she thought they are probably to busy.

I was unsure of what to do so I came here.

I hope for every-ones sake..its not what I think it could be...

If you have any comments on questions, please post it here.

    Thank you

    Tom

I would have kept the money. Then again, I'm guessing that the whole story is bogus.

London does make sense, seeing as the British are assisting us in our airstrikes...we are also a little too prepared and would become angry and resolved very quickly. You know, we're the experts.

    but you know, i dunno

Just to be safe, may I suggest, for you and your friends to leave London on 12th and go to Glasgow or somewhere else and watch tele in a hotel on 13th far away.

Even if there is an event about to occur, there is not much you or the police can do that they are not already doing it.

If it is true, I would suggest your friend to goto whatever is equivalent to our FBI, outside of London (Inside London, they are too busy) and have a sketch artist create a picture to see if that person is in database (chances are more that he is not).

Can you provide us a little more detail as to the location of the encounter in a London map and the details of the encounter like time and any other witnesses?

Interesting enough, I've yet to hear any threats leveled at Mecca. I mean, if you want to stab at the hart of Islamic irrationality...

If it is true, Tom, you need to take it seriously and collect as much information as possible. Either email to me or post it here. I will send it to the right party. The NSA scans these forums, they will do something.

    problems

was the man telling the truth? was he loonie or simple out to scare people. Is it worth getting everyone involved for a possible hoax?

why London when you have the US?

Why would anyone target London when the US who are still showing incredible incompetence when it comes to taking basic precautions against terrorism are spearheading the effort against the Afghans?
Remember you can never ever defend yourself completely from a terrorist attack. The difference is the rest of the world recognizes this and knows how to prepare and cope, Americans don't yet have that ability.

For all you Londoners out there...

...who must have heard this story a thousand times through e-mail and conversation, I did hear a very good one:

A friend of a friend was in Harrods doing some window shoppping when he noticed a man of dark, possibly Arab, appearance put a large paper bag down and walk off towards the exit. The friend of a friend went over to the bag and picked up chasing after the man to hand it back. He finally caught up with him and said he'd left his bag in the shop and was returning it to him.

The dark man, speaking with a thick foreign (possibly Arab?) accent, was extremely grateful and thanked him profusely. As he handed the bag over though he noticed that inside was several bundles of money - possibly thousands.

The man was about to walk off when he stopped and returned to the friend of a friend. 'I have something very important to tell you' he said. 'I must share this great tip with you as you have done me such a good service'. Tha man looked around and leaned forward, saying very quietly...

'Do not eat at the Aberdeen Angus Steakhouse. The steaks are overpriced and badly cooked and there is a limited desert menu'

Needless to say, the story is absolutely true. (As every urban legend must be...)

Yup, I have heard that one in some variation countless times.

I heard like one 100 version of this through e mails and inperson. Now something might happen in those 1 million stories and one can say oh I was right. See that afghani looking guy was evil. Or what ever. Let me ask you what does afghani look like???? May be he was walking in london with a rug on his head and wearing long afghani looking cloths and long beard right????
