Hey, One of my relatives has quite a bad condensation problem in her house. In that in the morning windows on one side of her flat are covered in condensation. As you can imagine it's quite a pain but she has heard that there are some plants that love condensation and would help in cutting down the amount of condensation on her windows. Does anyone know of any house plants that would be suitable?
Condensation on windows is caused by the principle of Watt that has been widely used in steam engines. The condensation is caused by the window being too cold. Plants are not going to change that. Actually plants need moisture and evaporate water, increasing the moisture of the air. But that's desirable most of the time. To get rid of that condensation, double layered, insulating glass would solve the problem. That prevents the glass from cooling too much.
Thing is, it's on the 9th floor! - So replacing the windows is easier said than done. The glass at present is already double-glazed (what i think you mean by two-layer). So the option of plants seemed a good idea. Now it kind of makes sense there what you said as the windows that get this problem are in the face of the wind (and being on the 9th floor it does get windy!). Any other options?
grab yourself one of those spongelike dehumidifiers, doesnt take any power, just soaks up water in the air
