Ofcourse its true, there is nothing strange about it either. Primates often eat baby animals alive because they are opportunistic feeders and they have hands that won't necessarrily kill something when they grab it. I've seen it happen many times and it is gruesome, they eat small animals like fruits. They'll take a bite and then look around innocently chewing while they have something kicking in their hands.
This one managed to get its hands on a human baby so we take notice but its normal behaviour.

Spurious:
I've never seen bears picking out fish brains but I have seen how they get the eggs. They catch them, put them on a rock and then stomp on them to make the eggs squirt out so they can lick them up. Bears are very interesting animals, they have so many different behaviours and are alot smarter than some people realise.
