Is your copy of Windows Vista giving you trouble? Is it not what you expected? Did it come as a 32-bit or 64-bit version? Tell us so we know whether or not to buy it / a new PC.

I'll be the first to say it's buggy, I've restored a few times already, repeated problems actually booting the thing up! I think it could be one of the updates or an incompatibility issue I can't find. It's a pretty cool O/S though.

the strict security features make it less user friendly. there are things i actually can't do or even override, it doesn't seem as flexible as xp. I can't even use some pirated patches for my games.

    I have had no bugs.

well, sort of a bug. a driver for a cypress USB chip didn't take and I had to change the USB ID to make it work.

how can I tell if I am running 32 or 64? my lappy came with in preinstalled, and its a turion 64, so I assume its 64 bit, but how do I tell?

You see! They don't even let you know if your version you got is 64 or 32 bit! Dell, HP, etc all probably give out 32 bit versions because they're more compatible.. hence what point would there be in getting Vista? You want 64 bit if anything...

Right now it depends on your hardware(nvidea - crap drivers for vista) and it depends what you do(games, autocad, - no OPEN GL!!!).

I'm sure this stuff might be sorted out, I'm waiting till it does. I do want to use Vista as a game i'm looking forward to is being made for the platform. If they don't sort out openGL problems and some other deal-breaking stuff, i'm going to have to roll up my sleeves and figure out(or lobby for) a ubuntu solution.

I haven't found that many bugs yet. The only bugs I encountered weren't with Windows per se, but with applications that were incompatible. I have had 3 or 4 crashes of my ATI Catalyst drivers due to compatibility issues as well.

I haven't had any major problems with bugs - none that even warranted a reboot.

No bugs, just a little peeved with the overly secure settings here and there, which I have slackened to work with my home setup.

For everything that annoys me though, I find a compensating good feature, so at the moment, I quite like Vista.

No problems here. I've been using various releases for almost a year, the full version is already more stable than XP w/SP2 was for me. And I run some unusual hardware and set-ups. Waterpumps, RAID arrays, SLI, lots of external peripherals, wireless and wired network, shared printers and files, etc...

    No problems at all.
