So-called principal swears out warrant for arrest of student. (http://www.outsidethebeltway.com/archives/2006/05/valedictorian_faces_arrest_for_giving_speech_at_gr aduation/)
The kid grabbed the microphone and tried to give a speech. School officials stopped him, reprimanded him, and the principal swore out a warrant for his arrest in an all too typical abuse of power.
This principal actually tells the audience that if anyone interrupts the proceedings at graduation he will have them charged with disorderly conduct. Some people may think that this is improper. I think he is an asshole.
Ironically, the story of Albert Gallatin (http://www.nps.gov/archive/frhi/constitution.htm)
Albert Gallatin was the driving force behind the first 10 Amendments to the Constitution. Later on as a Congressman he was a fanatic about the rights of the people and supported the Whiskey rebellion. Our freedom-loving Congress passed some of the Alien and Sedition act provisions in 1798 to target this person.
History sure as hell repeated itself.
