people always refer to the after life and say, 'until we meet again', like when they joi up in heaven.... where everything is perfect.. well um.. anyone else ever watch titanic. (just as an example). When rose "dies" she goes to heaven with Jack... but um.. she was married too!!! so where is her husband in this heaven... or does this lovalble man who did nothing worng end up with nothing. or an angel-clone? just somethin ive always wondered about.
According to Christian doctrine, nobody is married or marries in heaven.
Mat 22:30
For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
The Jews have not, to my knowledge, worked this problem out. The Sadducees, whom Jesus addressed in this passage, seem to have thought that marriage would last eternally.
I don't know what the Muslim answer to this would be.

Back when I was proselyting in Japan (and a major believer in Mormonism), anytime one of the fellow elders or sisters would be leaving for America or some other area, we'd always think like this phrase. In fact, my catch phrase was, "Have a great life, see you in the next one."
There were those times when we would grow quite close to each other (seeing as how we traveled in pairs of twos) and we'd always promise that we'd be hanging out when we got back home. Or that we'd look each other up when we had a chance.
Finally, I went home and moved to an area where a good 70% of the people I proselyted with in Japan lived. Did I look them up and reminisce about old times? Did they? Of course not. I moved on with life, and so did they.
The unfortunate times I did happen to run into them, we would both get into the gears of, "Hey, how ya doin? How long's it been? Wow, the last time I saw you ..." Bleah. It was like meeting a bad date, no one knew how to just say, "Hey! See ya around."
My theory is that if there is a heaven, then seeing and meeting others for a short period of time would be best. Otherwise, I'd say the majority of the time would be spent in awkward silences.
Thanks!
