Does Unruh's Effect supply a cause for relavistic mass?
Energy is being taken from that supplied to accelerate an observer and turns virtual particles into real particles.
Sounds a bit like storing energy in space and applying less to acceleration?
That would cause increased energy to make mass accelerate (apparent mass increase but is really energy transfer efficiency decrease).

A virtual partical is a `real` particle....
`Empty` Space has basically got an infinite amount of energy. We only see the differances in energy levels, after all the infinities are renormalised...
I found a link...

Would this proposed effect just be `converting` acceleration` into mass? (rather than just pure creation from `nothing`)
blobrana,
The two polaritons of each pair are created on opposite sides near the horizon, they depart at a snail's pace, accelerate gradually and emerge as detectable photons
I found two things of interest here.
1 - Above the "Gradual Acceleration into Light"
2 - It seems we are talking about quantum affect at a macroscopic scale in rainbows.

It's a bit like blowing a dogwizzle, other humans might say we hear nothing, while the dog responds to it.
You need an elevated energy state that puts you in the same dimension/energy state realm to notice what is going on in the vacume...
The funny thing is that a force like gravity seems to spillover in multiple dimensions, which explains why the mass of a black hole can be measured but currently not it's volume (cause it is in a energy state / dimension way above our hats) , just like we can see/observe that someone is blowing the dogwizzle but can not actually hear it.
Hopefully this will change when in the Large Hadron Colliders will come online, it is just that you need insane amounts of energydensities to taste that hot quantum soup and we might be thankfull for it, otherwise we might not have a kinda stable universe with "chrystalised" matter etc....
Would it kinda be fair to call these virtual particles that reside in the vacume some sort of Aether?
Also, dark energy could be a spillover force from the higher energy planes, for example could it be that when virtual particles come in very brief REAL existence in our energyplane, they might push away/display some spacetime??, causing our universe to expand?

!
"<b>causing our universe to expand</b>"?
!
Good grief!, why did i not think of that....
The particles(mass) are directly related to the time interval theycan exist. So they maybe related to the expansion of spacetime.
Yes i like that.
(<i>And that bit about gravity as a spill-over from another dimention</i>)
vortexx,

That is precisely the idea. Not only can the conversion of the virtual world into our real world cause the accelerating expansion but that same energy may be th origin of pushing gravity.
That is Dark Energy is not some unique anti-gravity force. It is gravity force. In a finite universe pushing gravity objects in the inner zones would gravitate but object near the origin surface would have more energy jpushing out than pushing in, hence the expansion.
We are watching the ongoing creation of the universe.
Just my opinion of course.
