I've come to a conclusion. Unlike most of my friends, but not all, I tend to not be an asshole. This is in my opinion, of course, based on what I've seen my friends do. A majority of the time they treat others with respect and decency, but some tend to be extremely vicious to those in various clases that they despise. This includes writhing in agony whenever that-person-they-hate speaks, asking stupid questions after a great deal of them have already been asked (today we took half an hour in an honors bio class to get to "messing around with fruit flies," just because some kids had some aching questions that needed to be answered). But I've also noticed that this assholeness tends to get them absolutely nowhere, some of them have been acting like this since they've met the annoying people in question, and neither of them have imroved in their behavior or ceased to piss each other off.

I try not to be vicious, I am sometimes...just because online it tends to not carry the same consequences. I think and hope that I'm considered at the least a relatively nice guy, I think to some extent that I must be doing something right, since I have friends that, from all outward appearances, think that I'm cool, and enjoy my company. I just hope I'm not being too presumptuous.

But anyway, it's not that the viciousness upsets me or anything, it's just that I've been wondering what other people have to say about viciousness, about being or not being vicious, and seeing their friends being vicious as well. Does it get them anywhere? Has it gotten you anywhere? What benefits does it have?

I'm i nice person but when i don't like you and don't want your precense near me you will know. I'm not even sure if this falls under the category of viciousness.

There's different kinds of assholes though. With friends of mine I tend to, every now and then, just do the complete opposite of what they want. Or say the complete opposite. Just get people frustrated for the sake of seeing people get frustrated, because it's funny. And with people I have negative respect for (not people I'm neutral towards or don't care much about) I will go out of my way to make sure they are at some point offended. Example:

A girl who is particularily pompus in my class recently met a new student we have who just moved from South Africa - she is obviously British. The two young ladies and myself were sitting with them behind me and we were doing some menial task. Then our idiot decides to ask; "So, like what language do they speak in South Africa?" I turn around and shake my head and the Brit and I just kind of exchange odd looks as she says "Uhh, English. South Africa was a British colony". The Brit then turns to me and says "There's a lot of like anti-American sentiment in Canada, why?" And our young idiot pipes up "It's because they know nothing about us! They know nothing about the world around them!"

So five minutes later I'm forced to hear the remarkable question "So did you ski in Africa?". I turn around and say "Africa Claire, Africa." The Brit laughs. The idiot replies; "But, like, there's skiing in Vancouver in the summer".

"Yes Claire, there is skiing in CANADA in the summer. CANADA is faaaaar north. South Africa is, in case you cannot tell, south. It is near the equator. It is hot."

"So, like, you guys never get below zero temperature?"

"Africa Claire! Africa!"

The funniest part being that we were in Anthropology class, studying Africa for the last 2 months.


Anyway, the moral of the story is that idiots deserve to be treated like idio....

Oh, wait, about being an asshole. Hmm. I guess my general feeling would be that by nature I am something of an ass, and there are certain people I'm not willing to go through the effort of changing for. With people who don't like me being like that there are times when because they are friends I simply won't feel like being an ass around them. The rest, well, I'm gonna be me.

We gassed the little suckers and organized them before dumping them back into the little tubes they came from. One of my friends sought to feel powerful by taking the head off of one of them...I'm sure he/she didn't mind, after all, he/she was a fruitfly, and an unconscious one at that.

I'm not sure if you're being an asshole when you're just making fun of someone who is stupid, because like the fruitfly, chances are they're too stupid to care about what you've just said or done five minutes after you've done it. My britlit teacher has to scream in the morning to get this ultramegaditz who sits next to me to shut the fuck up about her hillbilly boyfriend, and just today she amazed the class by telling us all that she didn't know what the acronym FBI meant. Needless to say, since I was right next to her my IQ dropped by ten points, forcing my head to slam into my desk repeatedly.

i don't want to be vicious, but South africa was dutch once too and some people speak some kind of dutch there (afrikaans)...maybe it wasn't such as stupid question after all...and then there are the local (non-imported) languages.

Unnecessarily Vicious is a state of mind in which the ignorant and the useless swim in their own ocean of make believe.

People with those special characteristics they don’t need to learn, don’t need to know and don’t care either way, because when they become victims of their own kind. It is always some one else’s fault, everything is wrong in this world including their own existence.

They don’t even realized how lucky they are that they are in a surrounding where they can afford to be “unnecessary vicious”. But they all have something in common, …they all end up sharing the same outcome!

I personally don’t dislike it since it is another part of our world, when I come across one of those special beings, I just take that extra effort to guy them against a wall until they drawn with their own saliva.

i tend to be vicious to people I classify as not human or that have hurt in any way my friends. I don't really care if someone is mean to me. But usually i just ignore those people. But i would ask nasty questions during scientific seminars for instance, just for the sake of being vicious.
