I hope it is all put to good use, Give Hamas my very best reguards. They deserve to recieve every bit of it.
Not a surprise, no. But the nature of the delivery is. Have they announced it on the news? Do the Americans know the US is sending arms to kill more Palestinians?
Yes and no. Yes, Americans do know that the USA sells and sends weapons to Israel. It would come as no surprise. Running a story on this would make most Americans scratch their heads with a "um... so the f**k what" ambivalence. While it is true that most Americans do not know and are not interested in the everyday affairs of the USA outside our borders, it is known that we send weapons to our allies. It's part and parcel, as far as most Americans are concerned. You live here, you should know. If it's not about Brittney or Angelina, then it really isn't newsworthy. No, Americans aren't aware of this specific shipment. Americans do not, not know because of some vast media or governmental conspiracy, they do not know because this story just isn't considered newsworthy to most Americans and by default to their news providers. How is any of this even remotely surprising to you? How is it even discussion worthy? Americans either support Israel by vast numbers, or just don't give a damn. Don't think you're going to magically drum-up support for your cause by posting this, and don't fool yourself into thinking Americans will ever have more than a passing interest in the affairs of "our friends the Jews" versus "those evil Muslims". It just won't strike a cord. ~String
Odd? really, how else would you send a large shipment? Yes, we could have sent it by air, but that would seem to be rather expensive, and there is no emergency to get it to Israeli ASAP, Israel doesn't have a supply problem. Nothing but a normal shipment, and the fact that some one in the government didn't comment on it was probably because he didn't know anything about it, not a uncommon thing considering how large the U.S. government is and how many agencies are involved in the everyday mundane of the Government. Shipments like that are done all the time, how do you think most of the supplies get to Iraq and Afghanistan? or even our forces station in Europe, by ship then rail, the only time we might air supply is in a emergence situation.
Bull Shit ,SAM I spent 20 years in the military, and have been involved in packing up my unit for overseas deployments, these type of shipments are routine, in point of fact 3,000 tons is not even a large shipment. That isn't even a 1/4 of the haul capability of the ship I would bet. At Ft. Hood Texas, we burned up 3,000 tons a month in training exercises.
Except now? Or is there more by other routes that is not known yet? Again, not according to the people involved.
Maybe. Media in the US all toes the party line. You have to read Indian, Israeli and Arab papers to find out what is really going on in the world.
SAM, cargo container ships are sized by the number of containers they can carry. A standard 40 foot container can carry 25 tons, so for 3000 tons that would be 120 containers, that is how the U.S. Military Ships it's stuff. The largest size of container ship able to traverse the Panama canal is referred to as Panamax, which is presently around 5,000 TEU, so those are the smaller ships, and they have a carry capacity of 5,000 TEU, (twenty-foot equivalent unit), or 2,500 FEU, (forty-foot equivalent unit), thats a 62,000 ton shipment capacity, so just how large do you think a 3,000 ton shipment is?
Ok, do you have a report of this happening in an Indian, Israeli or Arab paper? Or maybe a Greek one since the cargo is supposedly going through their port?
How do you see that? They've killed maybe 130 militants out of 20,000 according to last reports and recruited another 100,000+. There are 1.5 million people there. And according to a latest report by Hamas, the ground war is just the beginning.
Americans have responded: http://uk.reuters.com/article/usPoliticsNews/idUKTRE50874B20090110 Its just a coincidence.
