In which countries does the US have military bases at the moment and how many soldiers they have on those bases? I ask this question because it looks like the US is spreading its military all over the continent and the world, and that doesn't look good to me, because they are doing that for some reason, a reason that may harm considerably this world that we are now living Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! . World events, me i be more formal & not call you by your sock puppet & call you happeh, the reason america has overseas bases is because of many reasons. One world war 2, did you hear of that war? well america has bases left over in japan & germany because of it, they are still in germany basically to help europeans who are inept at stoping wars in europe. There still in japan to defend them from noerth korea & china, as japan has no real military of there own. The uk has many overseas bases, left over from our world invasion tours. Now i would be concerned if russia or china or north korea started to have overseas bases, because in a wolrd of no nuclear weapons these countries would have invaded every country with in a 3000 mile radius. Happeh dont worry so much....

Opteron: Wishful thinking. Americans had a tendency to drop napalm on their own soldiers during the war. "Oopsies, friendly fire! But at least we hit some Vietnamese guerillas, and burnt a portion of the forest to the ground!" Reminds me of that scene from 'Braveheart', where they re-enacted the Battle of Falkirk. King Edward I ordered the archers to fire upon the ensuing melee. "I beg your pardon sire, but won't we hit our own troops?" Reply: "Yes, but we'll hit some of theirs as well." I'm not sure if that actually happened (historically) at Falkirk, but it reminded me of the policy of the U.S to napalm its own soldiers to get some of the enemy as well. U.S = King Edward I, except that King Edward I was far more competent.
Ideally, we would have one military base per country everywhere in the world. Well, more in big countries like Russia and Canada and non at all in piddly spots like Monaco and Luxemburg... but you get the idea.
we have no business having military bases where we arent welcome. in some of those locations (like iceland), we are wanted. in others (such as *chuckle* iraq), we arent. its a matter of discretion, really.
napalm < nukes with the strides the US is taking to eliminate fratricide in the iraq conflict i doubt its taken as lightly as OH WELL we got some of are own.
