every image of a victim of a war suppresses the spirit of a soldier, thus the losses must be hidden to keep the spirits high.
what exactly? Imagine: you have friends with you in army Your mission is to destroy some Afghan leader in the mountains, "kill all on sight" Everything goes fine than you see in a flash your friend's head shot, his eyes are full of Рain frozen in everlasting moment. As you head of to the mountains for a cover uР the Taliban fighters launch rockets at you making the world dizzy and buzzing and than silent, as the rockets exРlode nearby another friends body is dissasembled. You are now running for your life in silence, deaf, and almost blind as the blood from the forehead covers the eyes vision. You come to your base and all that there is, is hate and wish to end this war. All you want to do is cry to others to stop this insanity, to stop the blood, the killings, to stop the pain, and bring back the dead friends. The soldiers who just came from USA see you and your pain and hear the stories of fear and death filled, first comes fear, than comes hate, than comes rage. After rage comes fear and that spirit, of a warrior that has what it takes to save liberate USA and everyone else, is gone.
You would've made a perfect Japanese admiral during WW2 with that line of thinking. In fact, you would've made a perfect Russian General during WW1. And you know what happened to the Japanese in WW2 and the Russians in WW1.
Somehow the media is ruling what happens in the military. I don't know if this is right. People have to realize "bad" things happen in a war, but if you don't want them to happen to you first, do something . Let's not harp about our soldiers, when most of us would probobly do worse in a regular day at the office.
As if either the AP or the BBC is ever a bastion of the "whole truth". Oh, the humanity! Children whining that the school ground bully took his ball away from them. Waaaaaaaaa!
terry oh.. you lead me to believe you would have made a perfect english general in any war, and lets see where they are now....

Russians have always seemed to have the ability to stay not "key" in any war, just start their own cold one. Some may call this inactive, others opportunist. Interesting though.
??? Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Explain to me where you got that notion from? What did I say to make you think I would've made a perfect English general? BTW, in any war, you say? Including Arthur Wellesley, Duke of Wellington? Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
That the United States, or any warring outfit, should choose to hide the dead speaks loudly of its disrespect for humanity, the low value it assigns human life. Much like the "wasted" controversy involving Obama and McCain. That the dead are worth more as a rally cry than a genuine human consideration describes quite a dismal condition. If our cause is noble, we must behave nobly, and the unpleasantness of war can stand as a reminder of the ugliness of human folly. If our cause is not noble, there is some sleight of hand and tongue required to make it look just.
Glad you could join us, T. It's shady business indeed. There's also considerable irony in the appearance of American kommisars right where the Soviets met their humiliation.
Is this guy actually mocking being upset over the death of innocent civilians, and then covering it up?
Almost: He's so eager to mock the "liberal" press that he's insensitive to both the victims and the crime.
No, the duke gets a free pass . on this one anyways. ------------ And as to where, it seems like you prefer to let your "troops" know the reality instead of letting them believe in the "unreality" and keep them pumped , to encourage them, and the people, towards hopefully attaining victory. :itold:
