"President Bush has wide-ranging powers to secretly round up suspected terrorists and detain them indefinitely, including U.S. citizens like Padilla. Faced with a deadline last week to justify the detention of another U.S.-born enemy combatant, Yaser Esam Hamdi, Justice Department lawyers told a federal judge that he didn’t have the right to review the material."

This is the man who said "there ought to be limits to freedom" and "When I was coming up, it was a dangerous world, and you knew exactly who they were," he said. "It was us vs. them, and it was clear who them was. Today, we are not so sure who the they are, but we know they're there.".

Anybody else scared?

to the tune:Born in the usa

Born in the USA
But Ashcroft decided that I can't stay
I was
trucked to an army base and put away
I tell em I was

Born in the USA

Here in New Jersey behind bars of rust
No lawyers or families can visit us
Our names are secret cuz there is no trust
The press guess our numbers
and say whats the fuss

cuz I was Born in the USA

The tribunals refusal
for bail or judge
makes me think they'll kill us
for their giant grudge
We can't all be guilty
in this filthy cell cuz I was

Born in the USA

Some lost thier visa on that fateful day
Some were in a Mosque
cuz they wanted to pray
We can't all be a crazy member of the way
Bein a citizen just doesn't pay

cuz I was

Born in the USA

-Shaduup you filthy rag heads-

(whispering) i was born in the usa
