Dear Sciforums members!

Two new subforums have been created upon requests of several SciForums members.

These are: Comparative Religion in Science category and Architecture & Engineering in Technology category.

Some of you will say, why religion again, we already have one forum dedicated to it.
Well, this Comparative religion will be scientifically based. Without preaching, without discussion whether or not God exists, just scientific facts.

Forum is designed for scientific approach to the religion. It will be place for discussion about history of religion, origin belief, finding roots in mythologies of the world, anthropology of religion, comparing of religious tradition, ‘dead’ and living religions, cults, mysticism, etc.

As you could see, there is variety of fields that could be discussed within this forum.

Second forum, as I said will be Architecture & Engineering. I must apologize because I didn’t wait that poll ends.

I must admit that I like this idea and I wanted to create forum right away.

This forum is designed for discussion about architecture (history and trends), planning and construction, design solutions and designers, civil (construction) and mechanical engineering.

I know that there was discussion and suggestion for two separate forums, which has sense, but let’s start with one forum and we’ll see. I know it's wide field, but it’s easy to separate them later if we have enough relevant topics.

I hope you’ll enjoy in new forums.

Shouldn't comparative religions be under the philosophy heading?

Depends how it is treated. If the approach is scientific like for instance a historical approach then not I would say.

Comparative religion. Great idea! Maybe now I might read threads without being bothered with the "god doesn't exist" bullshit.

How so? Maybe it doesn't go on as much as I think, but I stopped reading threads in there a long time ago.

Oh no.
It's worse than ever from both camps.

It's rather annoying to try and have a real, honest discussion regarding myth origins, alternative translations, possible interpretations or any other subject in there without that juvenile ranting from both sides.

Usually SOMEONE tries to discount the whole discussion by saying how ridiculous and stupid it is to believe in God, then someone else rears up feeling the need to defend his/her religion.

It's near impossible to have a decent secular discussion about religion and philosophy in there.

Hopefully this will be moderated properly and with an iron fist.

the Eastern Philosophy subforum isn't nearly as polluted as Religion, so I have hope.

This is a great idea. Never understood why everyone keeps flaming the religion forum, they will flame the myth forum equally so a third forum could be skepetic\pecimist forum.

A free for all forum (not "Free Thought's") would be nice too, where we could all go to beat the crap out of eachother.

Wow. I must never skim the forums when really tired. I had to read that again twice before I realized you said "defecting" and not defecating.
