With you pacifist and pseudophilosophical bullshit I thought you might have a kind word for the death of an endanger sea turtle.

What kind of shit is that?

Eating blood is haram. But they've been under blockade since last June and have restricted access to medical care so I guess survival is more important than religious dietary laws.

Absane...since when are you in politics? Can't you see that this turtle business is only to lower the Palestinian image in Gaza by new means?

    Now what about the bears?

Oh well excuse me for never discussing politics. I generally keep my outrage to myself. But at least I don't shoot children in the back or cut heads off.

And I never had much of a taste for turtles or bears.

neither do I shoot anyone or cut anyone off. Neither do I taste turtles or bears. But if you followed the gaza drama, you would have noticed that the Israelis have cutted off the food supplied to Palestine...so what else do they have to eat?

Are they different from pig farms? Or chicken farms?

This kind of stuff is not as unusual as you think. Unfortunately. Even PETA disposes of many animals cos who is going to take care of them?

That's all disgusting, too. But my point is that no one talks about horrible things that happen outside the US. The US is the only evil country in the world. Everyone else is good.

Again, my point is that no one is calling out these two actions. Every semester on campus I see demonstrations to support animal rights and this , that, and the other. But they only talk about the injustices here in the US. What about China and the bears? They are going to be the next super power... they jail people for being critical of the government.

Someone clearly is or you would not have access to the information.

Reuters reports this information like it's justifiable. They weren't calling anyone out.

I don't think Reuters can call out someone in a different country for eating a turtle, even if its rare.

And the Chinese story was reported through an animal rights group.

The bear bile farming sounds like pretty damn poor animal treatment. Not exceptional in the relations between humans and animals, but, yes, another example.

This link gives a little more info on it:

The turtle story also sounds pretty commonplace, though not less terrible for all that. Humans destroy. Poor people or people under duress have less options for what they destroy.

But almost no one mentions it, or cares. If the Yanks had done it, it would be everywhere. We would nearly be encouraged to beat Americans in the street.

Who is the one you think should have mentioned it? Or cared?

Maybe a large media outlet. Or maybe PETA.

As for who cared: maybe you?

I decapitate over 200 rats a year. And I'm a strict carnivore. Not really the type to enlist in PETA.

Unless its to participate in killing the 97% of the animals they capture.
