View Full Version : Turn off your TV! (Q) 02-19-06, 10:18 AM And keep it off. Could you do it? Xerxes 02-19-06, 10:38 AM I use my TV for watching the weather network or hockey games. If I want video entertainment, it is easy to download. (Q) 02-19-06, 10:54 AM That would categorize you as needing TV? Could you not get weather reports from the internet and go out to hockey games instead? Xerxes 02-19-06, 10:59 AM I could, but the internet doesn't play nifty jazz music with their reports, and the weather ladies are pretty hot. Also, I don't have the kind of money to go to hockey games all the time, and prefer watching them in the privacy of my home anyways. (Q) 02-19-06, 11:07 AM Then, your choice should have been, "Not a chance, I need TV." duendy 02-19-06, 11:08 AM And keep it off. Could you do it? if i do icant contact here...is that what yo WAAAANT?...dont answer could u turn offa your computer? Xerxes 02-19-06, 11:23 AM I really only watch TV a couple hours a week.. that includes the stuff I view on computer. I certainly don't "need" TV. ReighnStorm 02-19-06, 11:27 AM I pay over $125 per month for my TV, Internet, DVR service. I pay $16 per month for blockbuster rentals program and $10 per month for Rhapsody. Have music systems throughout my home and 3 tvs along with the VCR, DVD. AAAHHHHH!!!!! Can't even imagine living without my entertainment packages. Not even one! Ophiolite 02-19-06, 11:35 AM Honesty is the best policy. I voted No. Thor 02-19-06, 11:42 AM I don't watch TV, download everything I need to watch onto my PC. Shove that technicality up yer pipe and smoke it. Roman 02-19-06, 11:45 AM I don't watch television. I don't even download lame ass TV shows and then watch them. No TV for me, period. Booyah, lamers. (Q) 02-19-06, 11:45 AM I really only watch TV a couple hours a week.. that includes the stuff I view on computer. I certainly don't "need" TV. The poll does not state how much TV one must watch each week only that you watch, therefore you qualify as needing your TV. water 02-19-06, 11:46 AM I barely ever watch tv, and even then only for a few minutes when I pass the room where other people are watching tv. (Q) 02-19-06, 11:49 AM if i do icant contact here...is that what yo WAAAANT?...dont answer could u turn offa your computer? Start another thread on that one. Why would use a TV for your internet connection if you only used it for that? leopold99 02-19-06, 11:50 AM And keep it off. Could you do it? it all depends on what you mean i use my tv to watch purchased video (vhs, dvd) and thats it EmptyForceOfChi 02-19-06, 11:55 AM i dont really watch much TV anyway. about 1-2 hours per week. maybe a little more sometimes, peace. (Q) 02-19-06, 12:03 PM it all depends on what you mean i use my tv to watch purchased video (vhs, dvd) and thats it Perhaps you are exempt and don't need TV and are merely precluding the need to go to a theater. Perhaps the first option should not include burning the TV? (Q) 02-19-06, 12:04 PM i dont really watch much TV anyway. about 1-2 hours per week. maybe a little more sometimes, peace. But you still watch it 1-2 hours per week, maybe more. (Q) 02-19-06, 12:06 PM I barely ever watch tv, and even then only for a few minutes when I pass the room where other people are watching tv. That would still qualify you since most people who never watch TV ignore it wherever it might be on. Avatar 02-19-06, 12:07 PM No, since 1998 or so. wesmorris 02-19-06, 12:10 PM I like the TV, but I don't NEED it. If it were not available, I would find something else. Give the choice between the 100 bucks a month for lots of channels and internet or rabbit ears though, I sacrifice the 100 bucks a month. So with that clarification, I voted that I need my TV. water 02-19-06, 12:11 PM That would still qualify you since most people who never watch TV ignore it wherever it might be on. Qualify me for what? Noticing that it is on is not the same as "needing" it. You may not like dog poos. But when you go walk down the road, it is not advisable that you ignore its existence. You'll step right into it. leopold99 02-19-06, 12:15 PM Perhaps you are exempt and don't need TV and are merely precluding the need to go to a theater. Perhaps the first option should not include burning the TV? i have a dvd player in my computer so i really don't use my tv for that too much as a matter of fact my tv is unplugged and sitting on the floor collecting dust. if i could find a way to hook my vcr to my computer i would sell my seldom used 27" color tv. Roman 02-19-06, 12:18 PM You may not like dog poos. But when you go walk down the road, it is not advisable that you ignore its existence. Ha ha ha! (Q) needs dog poop! leopold99 02-19-06, 12:20 PM I voted that I need my TV. what for? to see people getting murdered over a cartoon? it's no wonder bush declared war on terrorism as a matter of fact thats what i like about him he gets out of bed in the morning scratches his balls and says "lets go kill some terrorists" EmptyForceOfChi 02-19-06, 12:21 PM But you still watch it 1-2 hours per week, maybe more. yes either because im watching cartoons/anime with my little cuz, or watching movies with my wife, the only things i ever watch on my own without just wanting to do it to spend time with people im close to, is animal documentary on discovery channel, i love animal documentarys, (only of animals in the wild not captivity) i could do without it, i could do without everything except air food and water, i would maybe not choose to dissown everything, but i wouldent bitch to much if i had to live in the wild without anything atall, (i go and live outside every now and then on my own away from civilisation, i just search for good hunting grounds with forest and lake areas, theya re always prey and shelter near those type of grounds) i actually enjoy living out in nature, but i have commitments in modern society, so me dissowning everything completely, wont happen, but a T.V yes i wouldent care if it was abolished right now, but it can be a good tool. i like to learn from it i admit, discovery channels national geographic, discovery science and tech channel, i like all of those, i also liek watching some movies when i see them with others, and i liek dragonball Z i watch that with my little cuz and i love the fighting and martial arts scenes and storylines in it, the whole universe created around battle i love it, (my heaven), but i wouldent care if i couldent watch it anymore, my imagination is far better than anything i have ever seen on TV. and i would pefer to watch a sunset or nature in my face for real, or a starlit sky, or a blue sky at day with cloud formations everywhere. or watchign a waterfall while practising taiji basides it listening tot he birds, those beat TV by far. peace. spuriousmonkey 02-19-06, 12:35 PM I don't have a TV. My children will hate me when they find out it is normal and maybe even an absolute necessity to have a TV. (Q) 02-19-06, 12:38 PM Qualify me for what? Watching the spin cycles, of course. water 02-19-06, 12:41 PM Watching the spin cycles, of course. Dear lord, thank you, this is my best laugh today so far! riku_124 02-19-06, 02:34 PM i need tv i wouldnt know what to do without tv..... id be i nthe corner hugging a broken teliviosion, or maby id be looknig at a tv and pretneding to watch hsows .... i NEED tv |
