View Full Version : Turkiye's Destiny [European Nations] AB
Jerece Hunters 12-09-02, 05:59 PM For years our politicians have been working to join AB but the final result is a big zero...Now Turk nation has a new chance to join them but America wants Turkiye to help The USA if a war possible..So that they listed PKK's new terror group in their economic terror groups list and all of the things for their profit....
Turkey has always been a very strong nation. It sits at the doorway from Europe to Asia, the perfect position to control a great amount of trade.
However, there is a clear trend in international relations at the moment. The European Union is building up the Euro joint currency to compete against the American-Japanese economy. And the USA is using war to lever apart nations and force people to choose to either be in with the US economy or cut off from it, much like during the Cold War. Many poorer nations will obviously be left out in the cold. Clearly, the Middle East is the fulcrum around which the USA is applying this leverage, and Turkey happens to be right there on its doorstep.
Turkey will be forced by economics to either join the EU completely and accept the Euro, or be left out in the cold. By becoming a full member of the EU and adopting the Euro, Turkey can guarantee technological and economic progress, but at the cost of being on the front line of someone else's war.

I understand that if Turkey join the EU our money TL gonna boom:D :( this seems to be impossible]
Some information about this: http://www.deltur.cec.eu.int/english/main-e.html
Vortexx 12-09-02, 07:11 PM Absolutely, now more than ever, because Europe needs modern moderate islamic friends. I don't know the REAL reason why Turkey isn't a member already. Sure some talk about Human rights for "mountain turks" (The Dutch government in the past thought Turkey was ok to sell millitary planes and tanks, so where this talk about human right suddenly come from i don't know) but it might as well be a lobby of Greece and other south European countries that might fear their own financial position.
Money, Money, money.......
kadirbab 12-11-02, 03:10 AM nah girer:D
Jerece Hunters 12-11-02, 03:12 AM Only the reason is Turkiye is a Islamic Country ????
Jerece Hunters 12-11-02, 03:23 AM Adam you have a interesting avatar:D ;)
It's because I'm really nasty. :P
I have a friend in Turkey, a VERY attractive young lady. The country has quite an interesting history.
Microzoft 12-11-02, 07:56 AM I have Turkish friends (overseas) and have related to them for a long time. However, I really think it is difficult for Turkey to become a full honored member in the EU.
If one follows internal freelance journalists reports and have kept a watchful eye, one would realize that the amount of changes that Turkish government must undertake in terms of social justice, social services and foreign policies, …. is overwhelming to say the least.
To make matters worst. It would be hard to imagine that as existing EU members are free to work and habitat member nations, moral and ethical values a relatively compatible. This free border status doesn’t antagonize any EU culture. How ever, a reasonable sector of the Turkish community are very link to own customs and rarely feel the necessity to blend within other cultures. This is OK and perfectly normal, however it will induce serious socio-political stresses
within the current immature EU.
I think Turkey should not push for the EU and neither married the US, simply take advantage of strategically location and intelligently make the most of both worlds.
…Who know, Turkey may decide to start own Middle East Community!!

Actually that might be interesting. Turkey starting a new economic union with the Middle Eastern nations. Start a process of co-operation first with economics. Truy to build more and more ties through trade and collective bargaining, maybe become another major trading block. It might help with a bit of peace.

Microzoft's idea is interesting to mee too but Eu is a completed organization and our politicans idea is dont have any time to prepare a new organization with Middle Eastern nations.Because the power @ Eu and they may gonna eat other weak organizations

Your naïveté as a Turk is really quite saddening to me.
That is not the reason.
Human rights refers to the treatment of the Kurds, as well as a couple smaller ethnic groups.
