I would hate to go the doctor claiming to have an 'ear tumor', since it sounds so ridiculous, but that's exactly what I think I have.

In the very center of the floppy part of my ear is a small, hard lump. Just recently have I noticed it, and it worries me, because it feels just like the testicular tumors they trained us to find back in high school with fake ball sacs.

What do you guys think? Is it something to get checked out? Anybody else have one?

Absolutely get it checked. If it is a tumour they can treat it early, and if it isn't then you'll know. Better to get too many things checked than too little, that way you may cath the one that would kill you.

if you have your ears pierced then its probably from that, because i have them,

but lumps can appear in the ears for no reason and be harmless,

go get it checked out if you want, but i dont think theres anything to worry about,

i wouldent chekc it myself, i dont even go to the docs ever or take western medicine,

i think aslong as in my mind i believe i am 100% healthy and i train hard and live well i will always be healthy, even if i become sick i believe i can overcome the illness with posative thought alone, i believe your as ill as you believe you are (unless your sprayed with toxic waste and radiation then your probably fucked)

if it gets big as a golf ball chop it off yourself,

    peace.

    I reiterate: Get it checked.

Let us know how that works out for you, Empty. I can't believe there are so many chumps in the world struggling to cure AIDS and cancer, when you've had the remedy all along.

From what I've heard, Chi is right. Conventional medicine works well only for serious illnesses or emergencies. Maintaining good health has a lot to do with positive attitud, exercise and diet.

Yeah, I think I'm going to leave this tumor business alone and go outside

Xerxes, do you think that maintaining good health, positive attitude, exercise and diet are not encouraged by practitioners of conventional medicine? Or are they just eastern ideas?

Positive attitude is especially undervalued. I don't see any doctors prescribing meditation for the flu.

Xerxes, please go and get it checked. It may take a few hours of waiting, but then you know. And knowing is half the battle... I mean it's better to confirm that you don't have ear cancer than have a lump on your ear and be thinking "I wonder if thats serious".

And you think cancer isn't a serious illness? Get it checked! If it grows and spreads through your body, you're quite fucked.

...Jesus Christ Chi, did you have to give him the idea?

If I ever get cancer, I'm going on a permanent almond juice fast w/yoga. Almost guaranteed recovery if it hasn't spread to my vital organs.

    Chemo would be too much.

Update: There appeared some puss-crust right on the front of my ear where the lump is. I'm beginning to think this is a harmless cyst, but I will make an appointment just in case.

I have had the exact same thing in my ear. A few times actually. I think it has nothing to do with cancer, but rather with some kind of ciste formation. It hurts when you press on it, and nothing ever opens up no matter what pressure you put on it. Anyway, I wouldn't be anxious about it.
