View Full Version : Trek
spacemanspiff 02-05-03, 11:52 PM Simple question. Which one do you like? Why? Wich one sucks? and again why? oh and who had the best captain.
i'm going with TNG. i feel like i grew up with that one. it was the first one i ever saw. still my fav.
I think DS9 is underrated, i think it has it's moments. The whole story on the conflict around the wormhole was pretty good.
V-ger: eww. i just disliked janeway so much. and nelix.
Enterprise: umm, it's ok. i hate the theme song with a passion.
TOS: honestly, i haven't seen an ep in so long i couldn't tell you.
ps: I searched and couldn't find a thread on this topic. so don't get mad at me if i'm being redundant

I kinda grew up with it too, but it's not my fav

DS9 is my favourite, the way they developed the characters and actually showed us that they all have lives was very good. A very different approach to Star Trek
V-ger: eww. i just disliked janeway so much. and nelix.
I was forced to watch that cos my dad liked Janeway *shudders* but it was kinda cool
Enterprise: umm, it's ok. i hate the theme song with a passion.
Hardly seen it
TOS: honestly, i haven't seen an ep in so long i couldn't tell you.
So cheesy...yet so good :bugeye:
TNG hands down. Except Wesley ruined it, much like Jar Jar ruined Ep 1. The kid was a total doofus, "Wesley, would you like to come to the bridge?" "Oh Boy! Oh wow I can't believe it! I'm gonna piss my pants!!!"
Voyager had it's moments (the episodes with Species 8472 and the Hirojen were pretty good, and the one where they find that other Federation ships that uses alien life forms to enhance it's warp drive), but most of it was just lame.
DS9 had the best series finale out of all of them, and some very good episodes along the way, this would have been my second choice.
TOS, don't care for it, Kirk annoys me (yeah, he annoys me =P ), and for some reason I just can't watch a show with graphics and sets like that.
Enterprise... nice graphics... that's about it. The theme song is horrendous and a lot of the episodes seem to be recycled stories from other ST series. And god that Archer ticks me off, he's such a lame-ass, they could have picked a better actor :bugeye:
Vertigoll 02-06-03, 01:37 PM ST Enterprise is without a doubt, the best of them all. The coolest stuff and plots in my opinion. And it was the only one I steadily watched. The others just blurr together for me.
While TOS does look cheesy, they were actually using state of th eart(back then) technology, and it pails compared to today. You know they did an animated one for a while?
I'd go with TNG, only because I haven't really seen enough of the others to form an opinion.
Neutrino_Albatross 02-07-03, 12:33 AM TNG is by far my favorite.
TOS was decent, but extremely corny.:D
Never really got into DS9
Didnt like Voyager at all.
I try to pretend that Enterprize doesnt exist.
Crabbles 02-07-03, 05:31 AM 1.DS9
I took a while to grow to this but as the series unfolded the show grew. As for the characters they where the most memorable and varied of all ST series. All the other shows had a limited number who impressed.
A little to much religion but apart from that the story lines where superb as a rule.
2. tng
3. tos
4. Enterprise(hung jury) Nice eye candy though! ;)
5. Not entered!(Did I hate that one!)
static76 02-07-03, 10:51 PM 1) Enterprise - By far the best show of the genre, has a bit of realism that the other series never attained.
2) TNG - Okay, nothing special
All the others were pretty lame...
The orignal one was as cheesy as it gets. It made "Green Acres" look like Seinfeld.
DS9 was great as a sleeping aid. Whenever I had trouble sleeping, I would just turn that boring show on and fall right to sleep.
Voyager was a joke, the few times I caught this show I was actually rooting for the ship to be destroyed.
:m:
Starscape 02-10-03, 01:32 AM TNG all the way.
The whole crew just work together in the most fascinating way.
TOS - You couldn'a done it without em! Always enjoyed the Spock / McCoy dialogue, Kirk was libido wrapped in a starfleet uniform. And what haircuts!
DS9 would be my third favorite. The character interaction between them was excellent, and the whole concept was just excellent. Oh, for the days when TNG and DS9 were on at the same time.
VOY - Not bad... It could have used a bit more of a premise that wasn't so single minded. Get Home...
ENT - Doesn't exist.
1. Characters don't interact well.
2. It should be renamed Sex Trek.
3. There was no Enterprise NX
4. Rick Berman's not Gene (Roddenberry).
Well, that's all for now.
- Rev Starscape
I go for Voyager as no 1 because after TOS and TNG it prevented the Star Trek theme from becoming stale and had the would they get home? (of course they would but when and how) question waiting to be answered.
Best captain is Pickard. In a word "class"
DS9 never did it for me so it gets the wooden spoon.
TOS I did not consider because it is so dated that I feel that it could not compete on level terms.
I really like "Enterprise" and T'pol is just so hot!!!. Just too new to be number 1 though. But give it time.
TNG was fine and was perfect to rekindle the Star Trek flame but for me is no 2 behind Voyager.
