How long can someone from the UK stay in France before being told to go home? does anyone know? Can that person live in france forever or do they have a time limit to get a job?
As far as I know, UK isn't part of schengen agreement, so you would need to apply for visa to visit France. If you travel with tourist visa, I don't think you are allowed to work. You should ask France consulat or embassy for that or visit their website.
that's strange inzomnia... I'm from brazil, and I can stay in france for 3 months without a visa... I'd have thought uk and france have more friendly relations than that
Maybe, I am not sure, it is different from country to country. Early this year, I visited Chile, and I am allowed to stay there for 3 months without visa. I don't need visa to visit France (as I have visa to stay in Germany and so to visit other schengen countries), but I need visa to visit UK. But as I am not European, maybe this is different from others. That's why I said she has to ask the consulat or embassy.
I'm south american, I can go to any european country and stay for 3 months without a visa. For portugal and italy it's 6 months. UK and France are both in the EU... I'm sure it's way easier than for us for a EU citizen to go anywhere and stay for a while.
You are right, Varda, people from UK don't need any visa to enter France: http://www.learn4good.com/travel/fr_visa.htm#req
LA, you are not allowed to work unless you have a work visa, though. So you can pretty much stay in France for as long as you can afford without working.
