Torchwood has demonstrated an offensive superweapon. MIB has a defensive one (Statue of Liberty).

MIB has better hand weapons.

There was one episode where one of the team got VERY friendly with an off-worlder, but that episode wasn't science fiction, it was a documentary of my Saturday nights out....
