Today the world recieved the tragic message that the swedish foreign minister Anna Lind died from the wounds of knife-man yesterday.
She was one of the strongest profiles in the campaign for driving Sweden into the european monetary union.
So what is a civilised country?
In sweden you can (at least could) run into leading politics in a bar, have a drink and talk to them with no hassle. Sweden is (was) an extremly open society and I think unique in this way.
Now we have to realise that uncivilised methods of politics do exist even here. You can realise how fragile a democratic society is.

I think this was a white ********** operative or something, trying to keep the euro and immigrant out, The future will tell if the killer succesfully changed history.
Anna Lind was left-wing, in Holland the Right-wing Pim Fortuyn was killed by an extreme left-winger and that surely changed history here, cause Pim Fortuyn he had very drastic plans should he become president....
Might be like that.
But then it was a rather stupid act. Sweden was most likely to vote no to the euro but now when the yes-side got a "martyr" that might change?
That's bad for her and those who loved her.
Anyway, I hope that they will vote yes to the euro : I would like to visit this country and it would be better with euros... :D
The attacker was a man, 185 cm, with camoflage-jacket.
Shall be interesting to see if the police will fail this time too.
You are welcome to this country with or without euro! =)
In fact if you come now is will probably be cheaper for you since euro seem to have a rather strong tendency to increece the prices.
Christian Sodomy: The murderer has not yet been cought. The film in the survailance-cameras will hopefully identify the purpetrator and lead to his arrest. How he could escape one of the largest department stores in Stockholm after dropping the knife is a mystery.
Vortexx: This was most certainly not an attack made by a right-winger. Anna Lindh was a member of the social-democrats, who are socialliberals, and have been leaning more and more to the right over the last decade. Lindh was also for the euro, like most right-wingers. She was also very critical to Bush's regime, and Italy's president Berlusconi. If this was a political attack, it was made by a left-winger. These are my own opinions of course.
Hopefully Swedes won't change their mind in the euro-election on sunday the 14th because of this.
Most extreme rightwings in Sweden is against euro.
How he could escape is not a mystery. The swedish police is well known worldwide for its incompetence :(
Robban: When I say right-winger, I mean liberals and conservatives. Nationalsocialism is similar to leftist ideologies in many ways, but that's a different debate.
mm yes. ok.
I dont think we have real extreme rightwings in sweden except the nazis. Not like this at least.

It's tragical.
I doubt the murderer had any connection with the "No to Emu" -campaign.
Perhaps the "yes"-side arranged this to get more votes, sacrifying Anna in the process.
Or have anybody thought of the connection with the Israelic basketball teams armed soldiers that are here?
Maybe they "took care of some problems" while here?
Or is that something that the pro-americans who really did it (of course) would like us to think?
:bugeye:
hmmm lets hold the conspiracy-theories until we know a little more.
