I created a new clock/calendar, and posted it in the Free Thoughts as a poll to see how feesable it would be. http://sciforums.com/showthread.php?t=58754

Wondering also what people would think would be a better reference for time. Especially considering intergalactic travel. If we live on different planets, it would not be practical to set our clocks/calendars according to earth's movement. We probably would need one univesal method of time keeping.

However, as it stands, I consider the earth's movement the best method for keeping time. Therefore, I created a very accurate method that I think many people would like.

Ok lets use some star in another galaxy (say Andromeda) of another world as our reference. Why in the world would it make sense to use Earth as the reference?!

Hmm, do you really want to spend your evenings recalculating what time your alarm clock should wake you the next morning?

Actually,
The NDay is actually:

25 CMinutes and 10.386048 CSeconds longer than the exact duration of earth's rotation to the milllionth of a second.
I don't know if you intended this or not, but humans have a kind of mental clock (not sure what the right term is) that cycles every 24½ or 25 hours. In experiments where people are kept in caves for any length of time, without any way of telling the time, they tend to settle into a wake/sleep cycle that's around this long. I suppose this is why most people find it easier to stay up late than to get up early.
