This was on the Radio this morning (UK).
A whole host of UK unions are very annoyed at the moment as despite the US already having promised to Divvy up Iraqi Oil to the Allies that help it, it seems they have a different idea when it comes to the rest of Iraq.

G Dubbya Bush has started opening Bids to Companies for contracts to Rebuild Iraq after the war and the huge size of these contracts shows to some extent the amount of destruction they expect to inflict on Iraq and it's peoples and ultimatly profit not only from the Oil but even from fixing the damage they do by selling contracts to repair it!!

The only problem is G Dubbya has further isolated himself by only Offering and accepting Bids from Home Grown American Companies exclusing all foreigners including his Allies.

The war "We are lead to belive" has not even been confirmed yet and already the jackals are nipping at each other to get prime spot to set on the corpses of the Iraqi people for the almighty $.

The British Trade Unions have announced they will be taking there complaints as far as they can take them to get in on the action.

At the current rate of events we will soon have 2 groups of nations, the rights and the wrongs, all depending on which side your on, this will end in a huge globel display of fireworks visiable from the moons of mars, removing both side from the face of the 3rd rock from the sun.

or

everybody will start wearing brightly colored cloths and run around blessing eachother with sunflowers, while chanting rimes(sp) of harmony and peace.

long live the corkroach.

White House spokesman Ari Fleischer made it clear last month that this is precisely the administration’s proposal. “Iraq, unlike Afghanistan, is a rather wealthy country,” he said. “Iraq has tremendous resources that belong to the Iraqi people. And so there are a variety of means that Iraq has to be able to shoulder much of the burden for their own reconstruction.”

So now not only have they sold massive contracts for the destruction of Iraq to Companies that kissed GWB and co's arse, now they are also selling the contracts to Fix it to the same people and even more sickening they are going to now openly justify using the Wealth of Iraq and it's oils to pay for it all saying its their Responsibility as a wealthy nation to pay for the damage we do to them.....

Possibly Americans will not as a whole understand, until we recede like Brittania, and wind up reigning in our own future Tony Blairs, each time obsolete and disastrous strategies are proposed again by panicky leaders.

There's also a more remote risk of fast-track "re-education": Chunks of America could break away as too-3rd-world, or too advanced, to share the same federal constraints and burdens.

Americans could be soon be envying not only the EUs credibility, but also its flexibility and connections. The EU, Russia, and China may then have to give Washington the look that could kill:

Simmer down, Yankees.

Interview With Chomsky On Iraq War

"Iraq has the second largest oil reserves in the world. It has always been likely that sooner or later, the US would try to restore this enormous prize to Western control, meaning now US control, denying privileged access to others. But those considerations have held for years. 9-11 offered new opportunities to pursue these goals under the pretext of a "war on terror" -- thin pretexts, but probably sufficient for propaganda purposes."
