Lately this has been driving me crazy and I am not certain who to rant ot. So, most people here being intelligent and scientifically versed, this seemed to be the best spot.

I have noticed lately that when I try to discuss an issue of scientific or mathematic origin, most arguements re useless.

I just ahd an arguement with some friends who disbelieve all of science because they hate theories.(these are religious types mind you). They want fact. They discount any objections that theory is simply put forth to describe observation and think of mathematics as useless.

how can you aregue the makeups of spacetime to people who simply do not have the math to integrate the volume of a cube?
    It is impossible.
And since they do not understand the math when you give them an integration or something else to look at, hell a tesseract, the brush it off because the concepts are alien to them.

To think that people really go through life with such pathetic arguements to try to rationalize their ignorance.

The innate curiousity of man is selective I guess.
I really thought all men were driven to understand and seek a better grip on our world.

What a waste it really is. What a waste.

anyway..I was just a bit flustered and peeved. I do not require anyone to boter with a response.

I know how you feel- I have a friend who hates to read. So you try to bring up any subject of intelligence, he gets bored. When he gets bored, he gets obnoxious. During the recent war, he pretty much was just all "We're at war! This is so awesome!!" with no real evidence to support his opinion. If he had things his way, his life would be spent in Hawaii surfing in the day, and smoking up and drinking at night. He'd have no job, yet he'd magically have the money he needed for food, clothing, and shelter. You try to bring up the real world, and he gets pissed because you're making him "depressed".
Yeah, it's a different scenario than your friends, but it's an example of "the uninformed" just the same.
