ofcourse you can discuss the different types of music, but this is a pole as i didnt see one about, i thought i would make one.
sorry if i missed any major genres out, they were off the top of my head. but i think i got allt he main ones covered. peace.
i love punk (not this new age green day punk but the proper punk), rock music and heavy metal!! i love loud music
LOL, some of those I've never even heard of. Grime? Soca? Drum & Base? How about Country and Bluegrass? I like the music of Alison Krause, which was on O Brother Where Art Thou and Cold Mountain. and Connie Francis which is what?? Big Band?
Chi, I put other style, in addition to House, Rock, Heavy Metal, Disco and Reggae. The other style is Classic Rock (Led Zeppelin, Allman Brothers, Steve Miller Band), which you didn't include. I'd have to say classic rock is my favorite. Aside from modern country and gangsta rap, I like pretty much all kinds of music.
sorry i left out country, i dont know what bluegrass music is though. grime is an adaptation of hard garage music. comes from the UK started in london. drum and base in basic terms is like fast garage music, lots of bassline and hard beats. soca is basicaly carnival caribbean music in rough terms. peace.
I don't like music or poetry, but when you put them together to make songs.... My husband listens to a lot of classic rock with long long guitar and drum solos. AURGH! I can't stand it.
i thought classic rock like that was just called rock music, maybe a mod can add extra poll options as i have left out quite alot. and i left out classical music aswell, i dont know why. peace.
I like all kinds of stuff, death metal to Strauss. Lately, the past year...well perhaps more I am really on an old timey kick. I love bluegrass, even corny gospel shit as long as there is a fast fiddle or a banjo in there now and then. Actually I just discovered a former (true) punker, turned country. Corb Lund...love it. He must be like me, got reminicent of dad's tunes he played or got played on the radio on the way to hockey practice/games/tourneys. I used to watch Corby every time the Smalls played Edmonton and now he is more "successful" doing semi-oldsemi-new style country. Frankly he is a style all his own. It also gives me a bit of a kick as he writes about Alberta, where i'm from. www.corblund.com
instrumentals are ok, i like alot of classical chinese and asian music. and i just remembered i left out bhangra wich i also listen to. the vocals mean alot but instrumental music is good too. peace.
yeah i mentioned that in post 13, i forgot to include it. and no nowdays we dont know what classical music is, its a lost form. "do you know what classical music is?" "what you mean like NWA and run DMC?" peace.
oh yeah, i missed out gospel music aswell, i will ask a mod to include bhangra, gospel, classical, blue grass, country, classic rock and any others i missed. peace.
yeah i know, sorry i just forgot it for some reason. i listen to classical music aswell when im reading and writting, or thinking. peace.
