It might seem as a smal thing, but when you are in a hurry and need something fixed FAST it is a very big deal. I think it is called IT-stress or something like that.

I agree, though I don't know if it has been named such...
Maybe my theory here is flawed (highly possible for sure): MOdern people crave for time. As time is (for normal people) constant, they instead crave for speed.

Anyway... I have noticed the change in behavior when a person who had 56k got broadband. They tend to be more relaxed. I think it is because:

1: No timelimit (no minutecost.) You feel that you had all the time in the world to do what you want (go to a website, check your mail etc.)

2: They have more time to do what they want. No more useless waiting.

3: They get more possibilities (downloads, games etc.)

I'll say: that exactly supports you previous observation.
To support it further, at home I connect my PC to the net with 56K modem, and I often have to use download manager to get big files.....
