The security is already beefed up at the nuclear sites. In a democracy, there are a lot of easier targets. The two major areas we should concentrate - after the fact are private airplanes and ryder type or commercial trucks that can carry explosives.

For people who are willing to kill themselves, there are thousands of ways to cause harm. The key to preventing all these is better intelligence and better analysis.

What we really need is a multi-dimensional analysis center that can use proper tools(tools dont exist, they have to be created similar to SGI-Mineset). But the analysts themselves should be anyone who is in law enforcement (CIA, FBI, Local detectives) that can visit that center and bring back a subset of data to work on. People complain that there is too much data. But by creating a very large analysis hyperstructure - it can be easily managed.

Remember SETI@home. We can do the same type of subset analysis....

The problem is people are not serious...where it counts.

Well chances are that nothing is going to happen or that something completely unexpected yet devastating will. The real kicker here is that I'm going on a mexican cruise (swimming with dolphins-yeehaw) on July 4. Yep, if something happens, I'm going to laugh my socks off as the cruise is cancelled and we're diverted to cuba.
