Basically this is part 2 of my double poll. Except this time it involves artificial disasters.

The same applies as the other poll ... the question this time is which of the above mentioned artificial disasters is most likely the next BIG event to hit this planet? Explain.

NOTE: This poll is not the same as the other poll posted by me. This is concerning artificial events. The other one concerns natural events

Water is gonna cause a big problem.Dams restricting flow to countrys ,pollution flowing downstream, excessive irrigation etc.Mind you if your in the US i suggest you drink as much Evian as possible.It will be nice to know that your doing your bit in case their is ever a drought in Fance :D

I'm voting for nuclear / biological holocaust. There have been a few occasions in history where a nuclear / biological incident has almost occurred but had been defused just in time. If this ever happens, I believe WW3 would come directly after.

i would think that the global economy collapse would be the most likely, but an alien invasion doesnt seem so far fetched to me either.

I'd have to go with water pollution due to excessive irrigation causing famine. The breadbasket of the USA irrigates an insane amount of water every day. With all the pesticides filtering down into the aquifers, it can't be long before they become too polluted to sustain life. I have a personal knowledge of a town water supply 40 miles away from my home town being shut down because of too much radium in the water. How the hell did radium get there? It's gonna be a dry, dusty future.

probably ought to be an engineered virus, as the topic asks about artificial disasters. funny how nobody picked the option the most recent disaster movie is about.

any form of virus would have to be engineered by humans for this thread. If you're refering to a natural born virus ... then it would have to be mentioned in the other thread of mine concerning natural disasters.

Though a genetically engineered virus would be similar, if not the same, to a biological holocaust.

Either nuclear war or eventually the Cyborgs and AI take over, the latter won't be a bad thing if your on the right side ;)

I think we will end up with both natural and engineered. It's kind of like trying to avoid death, when your time is up, you can't avoid it. WNV & SARS would be natural, and yet with terrorism that would pose the engineered. Either way...the viruses are coming. http://community.the-underdogs.org/smiley/misc/sick.gif

I don't belive a plague of any form will be able to stop the human race now, with our population even 9/10 of us dieing would not stop use infact it would make life much better for the survivers.
