Bush said we should not "pre-judge" on the Rove case. He said we should wait and see what happens and suggested we stop spreading rumors in the press. There is an investigation underway, he said. Then he sends his spokesmen out to discredit Valerie Plame's husband and anyone else that questions their motives or actions or words. The talking points have gone thru the right-wing radio stations as if by one voice.
Yes, we should know by now that Shrub and Friends™ are criminal gangsters and dangerous fools who stole their elections and took advantage of America when we were the most volnerable in order to lie us into a war in Iraq for their own perverse benefit.
It doesn't matter if Rove is a nice guy or not. It does not matter what offenses, if any, he committed in the past. It does not matter if any of his comrades did something you don't like. The only thing in question is if he broke the letter of the law in this specific instance and if it can be proven. All else is moot.
You are wrong about that, clockwood. The importance of the Rove leak is it's relevence to the general policy of the Bush administration to lie about Iraq. Not only that, but also to punish anyone who might reveal the truth.
It amazes me, how after only a year, White House backers have completely shed the mantle of 'values' they wrapped themselves in after the election. IMHO, ethically, senior White House officials should work to keep CIA operatives from being outed regardless of whether it's technically legal or not.
