View Full Version : The forever torch! Is this possible? alexb123 09-16-07, 04:39 PM http://www.amazon.co.uk/Crystal-Global-Trading-Company-Flashlight/dp/B00067I75C/ref=pd_bbs_3/203-5646646-3540749?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1189978498&sr=8-3 [a-5] 09-16-07, 04:50 PM Yes. Kinetic Energy----> Chemical Energy ----> Fuels the batteries. Same concept as the hand-crank radio. D H 09-16-07, 05:16 PM Possible, yes. Good? Maybe not. Here's a review: http://the-gadgeteer.com/review/forever_led_flashlight_review. kevinalm 09-16-07, 09:36 PM They're not too bad. I got a couple as a gift a couple of years ago. "Shakelight" brand but basically identical to the picture in the link. Not overly bright, but on the other hand you're never out of batteries. My dad has a three led recharged by a crank instead of by shaking. That one is really good. I think the brand name was "Nebo". alexb123 09-17-07, 03:40 AM Umm very clever its surprising that it can work, cheers for the info. one_raven 09-17-07, 03:44 AM I keep one in my car at all times. It's great for emergencies. |
