another odd story of the amazing Dr. Lear

Not even Dr. Lear knows the source of his new idea.
He claims it just struck him like a lightning bolt
The specimen was a dubious bit of silica
extracted from the sinus of Captain Solt.

    Optical microscopes showed nothing unusual
except for a rather high degree of symmetry.
His software idea was almost spiritual.
It contrasted data with strange geometry.

With scanning and tunneling electron microscopes
He compared the minute empty space differences
The bizarre results exceeded all his dreams and hopes
Lear saw new dimensions beyond coincidences.

Now we can see the stuff that is not here
Lear has a guess what it is but says, no one knows
The questions give rise to a curious fear
Why was this thing in Captain Solt's nose

IT is more than a transceiver it too is a brain
With interdimensional vesicles that bypass time
Lear doesn't know if it's the teacher or if it is trained.
His remarkable discovery may have ended in crime.

All of the research is gone but there's no one to blame
Lear disappeared but sent his regards from 3009.
Are we unwilling puppets, or spies in Lears new game.
Like a God he travels with all our thoughts through time.

Maybe Lear's a puppet of another God, I guess its all the same
