View Full Version : The Weakest Link
nicholas1M7 03-07-07, 01:31 AM Youve all heard of the tv show back in the dizzay. Now for a sciforums rendition. Sign up if you want to be a contestant. In this game one person at a time takes turns posing one question to one member at a time which they call out, and the questioner keeps repeating this process with the other contestants. At the end of each "round" which goes on for whatever length of time, everybody gets to vote off "the weakest link". So find out your questions. There cannot be any advanced mathematics or science that requires specialty in the field. Just plain knowledge or some puzzles. Contestants, let's get on with the gayame...
there are no weakest or strongest links here. We all are equal.

typing in white makes you that which you type yourself.
The Devil Inside 03-07-07, 07:04 AM google is the strongest link.
Prince_James 03-07-07, 07:07 AM I'm downtown with this.
Lord Hillyer 03-07-07, 08:15 AM Count me in.

I don't see how this would work, firstly you need one person to ask the questions and secondly in the weakest link you start with a set number of contestants like 9, so you would have to somehow sort out who your 9 members would be preventing any other member just joining in the thread at anytime to troll.
???
Nikelodeon 03-07-07, 08:39 AM Bank!
google is the strongest link.
Yes.
nicholas1M7 03-07-07, 11:43 AM You can use Google, but the answer might not be there. If you can make the question so that the answers are hard to find on Google then all the better.
EX: this one is for Prince James:
I've a straight stick which has been broken into three random-length pieces.
What is the probability that the pieces can be put together to form a triangle?
If you can answer this at this point, please do.
If not, perhaps this will help: here are several methods to break the stick into the three random length pieces:
1. I select, independently, and at random, two points from the points that range uniformly along the stick, then break the stick at these two points.
2. I select one point, independently, and at random (again uniformly), and break the stick at this point. I then randomly (with even chances) select one of the two sticks and randomly select a point (again uniformly) along that stick, and break it at that point.
3. I select one point, independently, and at random (again uniformly), and break the stick at this point. I then select the larger stick, and randomly select a point (again uniformly) along that stick, and break it at that point.
If you can find something like this on Google it doesn't matter. Research is a test of your abilities.
nicholas1M7 03-07-07, 04:15 PM DevilInside,
What are the names of the 12 disciples of Jesus?
nicholas1M7 03-07-07, 04:18 PM Lord Hillyer,
What letter of the greek alphabet sounds exactly the same as a term a female sheep?

That's because youre over-complicating it.
EndLightEnd 03-07-07, 04:33 PM Well lets keep the thread going without actually playing! This is fun!
nicholas1M7 03-07-07, 04:33 PM To make this harder you can also ask a trick question. After everyone passes the questions I gave, you each vote off who you believe to be the weakest link and PM it to me. I will then reveal the weakest link and the next round goes to the strongest link.
phonetic 03-07-07, 04:35 PM Using an IRC script and meeting up in some place at the same time would probably be easier.
Still, can I play?

have you ever watched the weakest link?
nicholas1M7 03-08-07, 05:01 PM outlandish, you are the weakest link... goodbye.
nicholas1M7 03-08-07, 05:04 PM Lord Hillyer,
What letter of the greek alphabet sounds exactly the same as a term a female sheep?
Strangely enough... that letter is also pronounced the same as a certain "cat lord" of sciforums who recently started their own religion right here.
