Joaquin 12-16-06, 10:35 AM I noticed here nobody talks much about the greatest sport in the world. Im mainly interested in the premier league, but could chat about mls. So do you think Chelsea will still win the league this year?. Who's the best upcoming player for the usa national team. Dempsey and Onyewu are two really good players, also u cant forget Freddy Adu, he should be a big success in future.

Good to see an American talking about football. :D
The Premiership is the without a doubt the greatest football league in the World, it has the greatest players, the biggest personalities, the richest traditions and is followed by millions around the World. I personally feel that Chelsea will win the league, they’re a few points down but I see consistency in them, I feel Man U will eventually hit a bad spell, they can’t go on the way they’re going forever, Chelsea have that depth and grit. I’ve been disappointed with Arsenal and Liverpool (I’m a Liverpool supporter) this season, I was expecting them to push Chelsea but they both had bad starts and fell too far behind early on. The Premiership is shaping up well tho, having 4 teams as realistic contenders for the title would be too much! I love it when the managers clash too. Mourinho (dick), Ferguson, Benitez and Wenger (wanker) all seriously hate eachother, watching the spats between them is gold! :D
I wouldn’t know the American players you mentioned. Its funny, you lot don’t even take football that seriously yet your national team does well at the World Cup, feel sorry for the players, lol. How often do you play football? Do you play it as much as other American sports? (baseball, basketball etc.)

The Devil Inside 12-16-06, 06:23 PM once it happens that the usa team wins the world cup, you will see a renaissance of soccer in the states.
might take 50 years, but once it happens, the talent pool of the whole country will be tapped.
i suppose i can take consolation in the fact that i went camping with 2 belgian guys, and they were bouncing balls around, i couldnt do it.
but they throw like girls.

Hey Ghost,
I agree with you on this... being a Spurs fans, believe me it hurts to say though.
As for chelsea, really they are big underacheivers unless they will at least the premier league and the Euro champions cup. To make them great, they will need to wion the title and the euro cup, tiwce in the next 3 years.
At least spurs are evntually getting their act together and stringing some results together... again i will be happy for a uefa cup spot we can only dream at the moment about a champions league postion.

take care

Alex Fergusson lost the premiership when he bought Michael Carrick for 18million pounds, such bad managerial doesn't even deserve to win the league. Chelsea can win it all if they want. The problem with United is that they just never seem to have any idea of what they are doing once they get into the enemy's territory. The best team to come out of england is to me always Arsenal, when Arsenal was at its peak their football was awesome.
Joaquin 12-18-06, 06:14 PM Thier giving us a challenge this year, its gonna go right down to the wire. Man u lost to Westham, closing the gap to just 2 points. I think Ferguson knows this is thier best chance and will be for a long while. If Saha keeps scoring he might not need to worry about Chelsea. If Drogba fizzles out of goals and Saha doesnt, Man u will win the league.
Joaquin 12-18-06, 06:16 PM Oh yeah im not American, just taking an eye for some of thier players. The ones i mentioned will go far. Ive played for Spain under 17s two years ago, i have three caps. Funny thing is, I only got noticed playing on the street. This guy told my mother, hes thinks im class and have lots of potential. So he said he speak to welsh legend Leighton James about me, who lives aroung the corner from me aswell. So i spoke to him and he got me trials for wales, i impressed. I then got offered trials for Cardiff City and got a youth contract with them. I then asked if i could play for Spain and i could cos my Mother is spanish.
