Really we should make a page in the encyclopedia, then everyone can edit the same map.

It needs to be dynamically interactive. Having people edit a graphic file with their own scribbles will rapidly degenerate into a complete clusterfuck.

I was just about to say that. I've seen maps that can be linked to your website that allow users to place a "pushpin" at their location and edit their info. That would be pretty slick.

Yep. That's exactly it. But I think a site admin would have to set it up to be accessible on this site, to members only. I don't think any of us weenies can just set one up.

Oh cool. You got it to work. I was on Ubuntu the first time I tried to set one up, and it kept giving me a blank page whenever I tried to "save" a new map.

I use PNG all the time, I prefer it in comparison to GIF and JPG (Less loss in compression), however PNG alpha channels never really conveyed properly into Internet Explorer (although Vista's version does handle it)
