So last week an old old family friend from Goa popped in to tell us that Goa has been invaded by the Russians. "All the beach signs are in Russian!!!" he spluttered. The beaches have been flooded by pale beauties of both genders Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! All that sudden oomph is not without its dangers, sadly. Girls have been raped and killed and the Russian government has put out a travel advisory warning Russians about safety considerations in the Indian subcontinent. Still, its Goa with its glorious beaches, rave parties, drunken orgies and laissez faire culture. And inspite of its popularity, endless stretches of unspoilt beaches. I'd love to visit Goa again but getting a Visa from the UK is such a fucking nightmare. The Indian High Commision seems to have subcontracted the work to a bunch of fucking rude pillocks. You would think they hate tourists visiting or something. That alone puts me off ever doing that again. Shame really cos its a nice place to go on holiday.
They should respond with a campaign of mass harassment if they don't like it... Start marching right up to these Russians and brusquely demanding: When the Devil are you drunken lazy bastards going to finish refitting our aircraft carrier ???!!! Lay off the aircraft de-icer and get to work for God's sake !!! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
LOL! I have a friend who's married to a Goan. He refuses to be called "Indian" because he's from an ancient Indian Christian sect (Church of St. Thomas) and doesn't want to be confused with Hindus for some reason. Kinda like the Christians I know from Iran who refused to be called anything but "Persian". ~String
Why brits dislike Russians in Goa Visitors to Goa from UK are falling rapidly due to the huge numbers of Russians - up to 40% of the 4* and 5* hotels are now made up of Russian guests and some villages in North Goa have virtually been taken over by them. Many (but by no means all) Russians are rude and loud on holiday. Indian waiters have told me they love the British because they are polite and friendly to them, and say 'please' and 'thank you' whereas the Russians just yell at them. I think the Russian travel companies and the Russian government should give advice on tourist etiquette to those travelling abroad. Lets face it, until the collapse of Communism, hardly any Russians holidayed abroad. At the moment, many of them do behave appallingly and can't even be bothered to learn 'please' and 'thank' you - or even smile! I have been enjoying holidays in South Goa for decades but not any more. I feel sorry for the Goans because they are lovely, friendly people. Charter flights to Kerala are about to start, I understand, so I guess the Russian take-over will happen there too.
