In what medium would you like to see Farscape return?


1) A fifth (and final) season

2) A series of TV movies

3) A mini-series

4) A spinoff series

5) A series of motion pictures on the big screen

I don't think it would translate well into the big screen. I'd have loved the show too continue, but aren't yet ready for the final season. (I'm still in denial)

Being the biggest scaper of this part of the uncharted territories, I'd have to say a fifth season. And maybe after 20 years a Farscape spin-off.

The reason why I say 20 years is that StarTrek, after cancellation, had the slightest chance of being renewed (And being the same series, within five years) After five years time Farscape as we know it, will not be coming back. It takes a long time for something good (ST:TNG) to come along. So if Farscape is not renewed within the next five year, then it will have a spin-off after that time period is up.

The thing about Farscape though is that it leaves so many things up in the air. So many unrealized realities are out there. For instance: Zhaan was never supposed to die (Virginia Hey left the show because her makeup was making her very sick, imagine blue dye on your body everyday) After they had perfected Zhaan's makeup, it was to late for her to come back. In the original story (According to my Season three illustrated companion guide) she would of been buried on a planet, and dug up several episodes later, but she unfortunately had to die. Could we please get a series with a Delvian?

The Farscape universe doesn't end because John and Aeryn got married and neutralized. Remember that Critchton left all those plans on the moon in the final episode. What if Earth decides to send someone else through a wormhole? What about all the tech that John gave Earth? I pray for something set in the Farscape universe to come about (And be worth my time)

As any dedicated Farscape fan knows, there is a possible anime in the works. I would love to see that. Since you can do anything with animation.

In short, if Farscape isn't renewed in five years time (Or a mini-series, made for TV movies, or anime) then I will hope for a "Farscape: The Next Generation" type.

On the contrary i think Farscape will make a excellent movie, as long as it is handled by respective hands. Let the scriptwriters do their job and as long as no studio politics get in the way. Could you imagine how great Farscape would be with a lot higher budget and ILM behind the special effects. But then again that's asking for a lot.....so let the show rest in peace after it's final season but a movie would be great though.


Also - Why is Farscpe ending...i though it got good ratings for Sci-Fi channel?????.

Yeah, I think everyone who liked Farscape thought it would have got good ratings, but apparently not good enough for Sci Fi.

What happened was, from what I understand, is that Sci Fi weren't getting the figures to justify spending so much on the show, so they cut the budget for it dramatically. (They blamed the 'un-popularity' of the show on it being 'too arch-heavy' - well DUH! That's what made it so good!!)
But the producers knew that a small budget would mean crappy effects, which would ruin the atmosphere of Farscape we've all come to love. So they said "We're not comprimising the show" And that, as we say, is history.

But I think a LOT of people have the feeling that it HAS to come back in some form. They kept the sets in case they get the go ahead for a film, but I'm still holding out for another series!! Keep your fingers crossed, people!! :D
