I heard Baghdadis being interviewed and they are happy about the peace demonstrations. Why? Because they think this means that war is less likely! That's completely the opposite of the truth. The opposition of the French, the Belgians, and the Germans along with the demonstrators have made war almost certain. The only hope of avoiding war was for Saddam to be convinced that it was going to happen -- so that he might step down voluntarily. The opposition, by giving him the impression that he might survive all this has made war inevitable. I predict it will start in less than 3 weeks.
