Since then, I have been trying to understand several jargonish words like "feed" and hell knows what else. I'm confused. What's a "feed"? And how does that help me making money on the "web"?

(Don't get me wrong, my only purpose is not just to make money. I want the challenge of creating a popular website that makes me enough money to survive.)


Regardless, I'm getting old. This internet stuff is too complicated. I can barely use Excel. Do you chaps know any website that clearly explain all the jargons (such as "feed", "e-mail marketing", "affiliates" and so on)?

Sometimes its rather limited though... and the word feed can mean a lot of things. But generally it's some sort of input device such as a camera. (the camera 'feeds' or sends its data to the computer)

e-mail marketing is a nice word for spamming (for example the viagra and porn crap you get in your spam folder)

affiliates: organizations that pay you for linking to your website

If you can't even learn to understand excel you can pretty much forget about building and decently maintaining a website (anything that involves code and databases etc). Unless you hire someone to build and maintain it for you.

I don't know about you, chap, but I think there's a big difference between creating simple blogs and understanding feeds and all different types of ads. Anyone can create a blog. But not many people can make money with it.
