The good life is cheap...I have been such in a good mood lately that I am not going to do alot of posting this summer. That is unless people start coming up with alot of mindful ideas because on this site I sometimes have to put in a ton of energy to get a return. I know in life that you get what you give but that is not always true, sometimes you can give and give and only get back a little (and of all this, a certain person still had the gall to call me lazy or that I didn't put much work into my posts a little while back and I am not refering to Tiassa but someone else, I can't remember your name right now, but you know who you are. After all the work that I have put into this site, I am still pissed about that, you really deserve to give me an apology).

Anyway, I feel that I do this, that I sell myself short, so its everyones elses turn to really think of some new and interesting ideas. However, it is getting closer to the summer and I know that nobody will want to sit behind a computer all day, so I wish all those that need a break, a happy one.

To return to my main point, I have been so busy lately, I haven't had much time to be miserable. It seems that as complicated as we humans think we are, busy-ness=happiness. A certain philosopher, I can't remember his name said that "idleness is the worst vice and busy-ness is the greatest virtue." I can't agree more with this and this kind of echos what one poster was trying to get across on my dating thread, the importance of getting or living a life.

This is all that I can think of right now. Remember, life is short so remember to laugh and smile this weekend and plenty of other times in your life.

    Sincerely, Fredx

I agree....and i should follow your advice and get my ass outside but you see i can't stand 95% of the people i know. It's a beautiful day today outside but i have a miserable fucking cold which is driving me nuts and i have no one to hang with this particular moment.

I do agree that the good life is cheap....example; went to the park yesterday for my "once every 3 month workout".....after exhausting myself i laid down in the open field and i looked up and saw nothing but the blue sky....it was beautiful...nothing but as far as the eye could see, it was like being in a wonderful little fucked up dream and i loved it.

Life is short and people spend it being miserable about things they can't control and can't change.

Thanks Fredx...you don't sell yourself short

    The philosopher is Bentham.

And yes, there is something sunny about life and that's boiled children. Just thinking of that makes me giddy.

(not to mention cherries, ice cream, Janice Joplin, good books, animals, money, good sex, cunnilingus, Cheetos, Bubblicious gum, M&Ms, science, ontology and philosophy, Richard Dawkins, sunflower seeds and sunshowers, cunnilingus, cunnilingus, cunnilingus, Toto, Dosteivsky, Flaubert, Strindberg, Proust, Ambrose Bierce, physics, math, astronomy, and the Universe)

.....aaaaaaand Rossini's "Thieving Magpie", Beethoven's Moonlit Sonata, Mozart's "Little Night Music, Strauss' Zarathrusta and Back's "Air". Handel's "Allelluha"....Medlesson's Italian Symphony 3rd movement and Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite.

Pachelbel's Cannon and Dvoraks slav music

Missy Elliot (that's right, Missy Misdemeanor Elliot) and Tupac

Luis Guerra and merengue salsa music.

The world is good, yes. Its only a problem of other people living in it with me.

I appreciate this post, fredx. I do agree to keeping busy bringing about happiness. A lot of clients of mine benfit from this simple thing. So we always encourage them to keep their days structured. I think this is a good start, but once keeping busy becomes a habit, then I think people need to find something that is truly fullfilling.

I live in Minnesota, so good weather is quite short. However, it's the wintery days that make me appreciate the summery days more. I hope to make the best of them as you are.

Good weather? I'm melting here. Excercise is the last thing you can think off now. it's 45 C. And in some of the northern states it's something like 50 C.

We should all take a summer break from here and go get drunk, then come back and tell our fun stories. Or if not drunk, nice and refreshed.

fredx, you have so many great thread ideas that everyone seems to have a response for. I for one look forwad to your posts, even if I don't agree with them always.

Thank you people for the positive good words, I get the feeling they are pure and genuine, whereas sometimes people want me to post more purely for their own gain. I don't get duped easily, but you guys indeed mean what you are saying. Thank you.

As for Gendanken, I didn't ask you to "dump out your purse", reveal yourself slowly, it's wiser.

Anyway, I wasn't thinking of Bentham, I was thinking Voltaire, I think, but many people have echoed the same thing but thanks for adding that.

To Seargentlard, thats so typical of someone from your culture to exercise once every three months and put 110% into it. Thats funny.
