You're sitting at your chair on the computer when a goblin appears. He greets you and explains he was lonely, he thought about your last adventure together http://sciforums.com/showthread.php?t=70501 and decided he'd pop in to see how you were doing. He tells you he's willing to help humanity by making everything edible. At first you're confused and he stares at you with a look of joy mixed with laughter, he jumps around much like a bunny rabbit would and then he asks you again. "If you wish it I can make everything on the Earth edible, that way no one will go hungry."

You must choose whether you'll ask him to or tell him no. He explains if he does this things will all have flavour to them, as someone begins eating an object it will loose it's normal function and merely become an exotic kind of food. This includes all known objects that are manmade. Consquences of this act are varied, but the result is someone that's hungry could merely pickup a computer mouse, a stapler, or even a wallet and just eat it, it would become food. Furthermore he explains whatever they want at the time the objects taste, texture would become that as closely as possible.

He isn't however giving this gift away, he tells you for this to work he needs to take 5 years of life from you, then from any future children you have. He says it will continue onward through your family until they no longer exist but he says "it's not that bad it's only 5 years."

So basically you'd loose 5 years, your kids would, their kids, and so on. All loosing 5 years of life.

So what would you choose and why?

I'm not one to offer advice, but surely this deal is good ehh? Why would you not accept his offer?

There is bound to be some kind of catch apart from the 5 years. Besides, I'm not going to give 5 years of my life and I'm certainly not going to give away 5 years of my children and future family.

Why not? What if they were hungry and starving because they had no homes in the future? Your deal could cement their survival and make everyone less fortunate easily live. Water is free but food is not... so what's the problem? Besides that the goblin says you won't know how long they'll live anyway so who cares.

    Water is not free.
And I just don't deal with fairytale's, if we are going to starve.. so be it. I am not dealing with a freaking Goblin. If he wants to help he can just give food or money.

Waters not free? What the hell! It rains from the sky, just collect it and filter it yourself then it's free lots of ppl do this. And what about the water fountains everywhere, so water is free you nut.

Why couldn't a "fairy" have appeared? I'd trust a fairy.
    Goblins are creepy.

if you do, you can sue the waterfountain's water management corporation for providing unsanitary water.

This is not America I live in. The judges will just have a laugh, if I can get it to court at all.

I'm going to leave that to you, no offense.
