Well, Peter Griffin asked about it, so...

Why the Euro? What effects will it have?

Personally, I see the Euro as the European Union's attempt to create a massive trading/economic block to compete with the USA/Japan block. Influence in international affairs is related strongly to a nation's/group's economy, and since the introduction of the Euro we've seen Europe become more and more resistent to such things as supporting the USA in their wars. Basically, the joint currency is allowing greater independence from the whole NATO thing. Ah, I'm just tossing around ideas now. But the first bit seems clear to me, that the EU introduced the Euro to create a European economic block to compete with the USA/Japan block.

anyway- it's very conveniet to travel through europe now and Euro seems to be quite stable- and it has a huge BONUS...>

it's dependent on the economy of many countries. No matter how US is big- it's only one country- Euro should better live through different crises
