Hi, I have a question regarding the earphone jack on the CDROM of the PC--is it possible to listen to non-cd music/sound via that earphone jack from the PC? because my earphone is too short from the back of my computer and my speakers don't have places to plug my earphones in....
    thanks for answering.

Usually the Earphone jacks on the CD-ROMS just allow direct CD sound from your CD drive, it doesn't pipe soundcard output though so you won't be able to use it as a PC jack.

You should probably look at getting an extension cable or if your feeling adventurous you could place a jack on the front of your PC that ports to the soundcard or on-board card.
