I recently saw the movie "The Castle" again.
Raising the flag upside down is the international signal of distress?
but, i just see one little, tiny glitch.
I am from sweden, even if our flag is raised upside down it still looks the same. This goes for all of the Nordic countries (if i am not misstaking)
If you don't know how these flags look like ill make it even simpler. Great Britain, Belgium are other countries that cannot call for distress then. :D
any feedback?
Yeah. If you guys are ever in distress, you're screwed. ("My god! Look at how cleverly those Swedes make their submarines look like ships!" "If that's a sub, why are they launching lifeboats?")
Actually, Great Britain's flag does look different when viewed upside down. The red stripes are not centered perfectly, so they'll be off-center to the opposite direction. Not that it'll make a difference if you aren't right up on it and knowing what you're looking for, but for the record it actually does have an upside-down position.
I think Japan's is vertically symmetrical, (do they just use the red dot, or do they still use the rising sun anywhere?), as is France's flag. Maybe countries with flags like that should print in upside-down lettering on their flags "If you can read this, SEND HELP!"

In japanese that will be a rather long sentance :)
maybe something like this; "If you can read this then SEND HELP! Otherwise you are unfamiliar with our language and we are officially screwed"

Actually Baal, the british flag, called the Union Jack for some reason, has got a up and down on it. :m:
