As the bison approach, the lions attack, and a baby calf is separated from the herd by the lions, attacked and thrown into the nearby body of water. The lions work to get the calf back on dry land, when suddenly a crocodile surfaces from the depths of the water, pulling at the calf. There is a power struggle between the crocodile and the lions, with the calf in the middle as the object of conflict. The crocodile loses its hold and goes back to the depths, but the lions can't enjoy their victory for much longer, because the rest of the herd of buffalo have arrived. Seeing the calf, the bison attack the lions. The lions retreat. The calf is still alive and returns to the herd. Life goes on.
