Hey everyone, I've got this awesome game--Medieval: Total War, however sometimes when I fight battles (involving a greater use of graphics) the game crashes. It gives me a message saying my video card has run out of memory. Is there any solution to this that you can think of? It would be much appreciated.

Actually you probably don't have enough VRAM for the particular game. There is no solution to this other than to upgrade. Ian you've got to get yourself a job to have enough money to buy a new PC man LOL

I debated this issue with a few people. When I got my GeForce 4 Ti 4200, I got the 128MB version. The 64MB version offers high speed RAM, but last statement from ID Software said Doom 3 would use 80MB for textures.

You could get around this problem with a better setup. For example, motherboards with AGP 2.0 or later slots offer sideband addressing, which allows your regular system RAM to store textures.

Any card with less than 32MB VRAM nowdays won't run modern games. Only solution is to buy a new system.

I bought this game about a month ago and I love it. It's very involved and I like the fact that you can have spies and religious men and such. The only thing is that I also have trouble with the battles. If it's only a handful of troops I can dig it, but when the numbers reach over a few hundred to a thousand my computer can't handle it. Maybe it is time to upgrade to a new Video Card. Now if only the strategy part of the game was multiplayer, now that would be awesome.
