The Tea Party activist wife of justice thomas wants an apology from Anita Hill some 20 years after the fact for her allegations of sexual harrasment against her supreme court husband. Kinda strange coming now after all these years. And Anita Hills says no because everything she said was true. Why is thomas's wife brining this up now? Is this just another Tea Party oddity?
Inexplicable I've heard some suggestion among the pundits—and, as I recall, the reporter for The New York Times—that the call might have been triggered by Jackie Calmes' October 9 front-page article on Mrs. Thomas' political activity. But this is all very cautious speculation, because there's nothing about the article that would really support that theory. As it is, the suggestion is that Mrs. Thomas wishes to refocus attention away from the fact that she is a poltical insider trying to make her mark in the Tea Party. But that just seems downright desperate. I might not like what I've seen and heard of Mrs. Thomas, but I don't think she's that stupid. This episode is, presently, inexplicable. ____________________ Notes: Calmes, Jackie. "Activism of Thomas’s Wife Could Raise Judicial Issues". The New York Times. October 9, 2010; page A1.
