View Full Version : Tales Of How You Found SciForums

It's storytime!

It was a cold, lonely nite, I was all alone in my room with nobody to talk to online. I had lost all my friends, all my life was running around in circles. I realized I wanted to vent some ideas I had about alien abductions, you know the kind nobody can prove but everyone believes might occur?!

I had been reading alot of David Jacobs and his analytical theories concerning alien abductions, it came to me that a few of his determinations might lead us to draw certain conclusions, things about these aliens we might not otherwise know. I had been writing things for aliensthetruth.com for awhile back then, I figured better to post and get actual comments rather then merely putting my ideas out there. I searched with Google (aka God) and was looking for a forum that was scientific but also not insanely so... I located this one.

I read a few things here, then I decided to register and become a member. Back then I went by the nick emuquire, it was a fun time... I only posted a few things before my insane rantings as sderenzi, by then I had become completely lost an my personality was like that of a computer with only data no structure. I posted wildly and claimed many things, I admire all those who answered and luV me :L

So that's it, this is how I found SciForums.com, my alien addiction.

Incidently I had left for awhile as emusquire but came back as sderenzi, I figured I'd try posting some of my more bizarre thoughts and seeing how that went. I still believe in aliens though :C~

Yes, it's that simple.

Google. I was looking for political forums. Reading some threads that seemed to have informed or at least intelligent members was interesting. Once I realized that this was more than a political forum and had a history of great topics, I bookmarked it immediately.

SF started back in 1999 I believe.

I was bored with forums that needed like 50 million referrals to a quoted reference before it could be used in an argument, eventually i found this forum, populated with what seemed to me to be drop outs, semi sane people, how could one refuse the unbounded and free? :D

I typed in: "Meaning of Life"

and found Sciforums to be part of it all which is substantial in this illusionary world.

http://www.sciforums.com/The-meaning-of-life-t-2108.html

It came to me as light in the empty frozen room were I stared into a dying translucent monitor of my laptop.

I found it probably sometime in 2002 doing research for a paper I was writing. I didn't join until quite sometime later.

EYE found SF after I got banned at IIDB. Several members there were pro Genji sympathizers (I used the same name) and suggested several other forums I could go to. My first choice was Heathen Hangout but they don't permit free email addresses! No Hotmail or Yahoo accounts can register! So I wandered around until I found this. I'll miss it. Only 15 days till I have to exit.

You misunderstand both of them. Roman is just a smartass kid, who hasn't quite made up his mind about what he thinks of morality, though he has conservative tendencies, he's also realistic enough to realise they are somewhat outdated. He will change as he allows himself to grow, because he is not really a bad guy, regardless of his "lack of scruples", a bit obnoxious maybe.

Baron Max on the other hand is a teddy bear, a lot of bluster, but I would bet that he is a good person. He's already made up his mind on all issues and sees no reason to change them to suit others.:)

I haven't interacted as intensely with you to a get a "feel" of your character.

The way I see it, you probably follow a very deliberate lifestyle, somethings you hope maximise your potential and you try to maintain a dispassionate outlook on life.:p

ME TOO!:o

How can I say no?:p

You feel things very intensely, have high highs and low lows, are very sensitive to criticism, devote yourself excessively to people you care for (and feel they don't reciprocate!). You also always want the best, which makes you hard to please and easily dissatisfied.

I was researching religion for my first novel and I came upon a portal that suggested 'off the beaten path', I clicked it and, voila!

I joined in 1999 and there's only a handful of us original glory days sciforumers that still post here.

PS: This thread has been done at least 3 times before.

I found a page on the net that listed all of the most popular forums. I think you needed over 100,000 posts to get on to the list. However, I think it said that Sciforum had less but that was only because of a server crash.

Tell me about it...

Plus that dude with the logo on his forehead...
You just want to reach into the screen and peel it off, saying no, no, no...

And Amanda Tapping's character is too prim and proper.
She should exhibit a genius tinged with a patina of nymphomania - so long as she don't go for Daniel Jackson, because that would just be nauseating.
